If you're a big wrestling fan, you probably saw over the weekend that AEW unveiled its latest trailer for AEW: Fight Forever, which will be the company's first console game - and it's coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
You can watch the trailer above, which gives us a first look at the character models for the likes of MJF, Orange Cassidy and others, as well as some more gameplay snippets featuring lots of creative weapons (we spotted Darby Allin's skateboard in there!). The Lights Out match looks particularly brutal, with lots of blood on display.
"AEW: Fight Forever is going to take you back... Way back to the Golden Age of wrestling games.
By combining nostalgic arcade-wrestler feel with innovative All Elite Wrestling finishers and tandem offensive moves, AEW: Fight Forever brings the best of the best from their talent roster together in one game. Career mode, mini-games and more – AEW: Fight Forever is coming in 2023 to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One."
Things have changed in AEW over the past couple of months, and now CM Punk is seemingly no longer included in the cover art for AEW: Fight Forever. Punk had some controversial things to say at a press conference following the All Out 2022 event recently, and supposedly even got into a backstage scuffle just moments later.
Here's a look at the old cover art compared to the new cover art for AEW: Fight Forever
As mentioned in the description above, AEW: Fight Forever is now targeting a 2023 release for Xbox and other platforms, so we've got a little bit longer to wait. It'll be interesting to see whether it pushes for a launch ahead of WWE 2K23 (which will likely drop around March), or whether THQ Nordic will give it a bit more time in the oven.
