If you're a fan of the 2003 / 2004 Nintendo GameCube classic, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, then we've got some fantastic news for you! The game is getting "reimagined" for current-gen consoles, arriving on Xbox Series X|S (no sign of an Xbox One version) at some point during summer 2023.
It won't be under the "Harvest Moon" banner this time, of course - it'll be called "Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life" instead. This version will also feature "reimagined visuals, animations, and additional updates".
"Put down roots on your new farm in the peaceful town of Forgotten Valley and tell your own generation-spanning tale in STORY OF SEASONS: A Wonderful Life.
Bring life to the land, find love among the town's friendly folk, and make lasting memories with a family of your very own in this reimagining of a beloved farm sim. Whether this is your first STORY OF SEASONS adventure or you’re returning to Forgotten Valley, a wonderful life awaits you."
Physical pre-orders for Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life are available as of today across Europe and Australia (no word on other regions yet), while the Limited Edition will feature various extras such as an A5 notebook and Collector's Box. Marvelous Europe is handling the EU and Australia release, and XSEED is the publisher in North America.
Here's another look at that Limited Edition (£44.99 / €49.99). Let's hope this remake lives up to the hype!
Looking forward to returning to this Nintendo GameCube classic? Let us know down in the comments.

@Kaloudz have you tried Rune Factory?
Super excited about this
Nothing will beat the original on the SNES. Nothin'.
Harvest Moon 64 is peak and honestly i'm not interested in a revisit to A Wonderful Life at all.
@Kaloudz figured you and I have very similar tastes.
@Kaloudz it’s not exactly the same but I really liked Slime Rancher 2.
@Sakisa I’ve always been curious about the N64 version - is really that good? Would you recommend it as an addictive game to get really into?
Since Marvelous is in a giving mood with Xbox, how 'bout some Senran Kagura, hmm?
These just dont seem to have the appeal to me in 3d. Loved the top down sprite originals, but just cant get on with the updates..
@Kaloudz yeah I can usually don’t play early access either because I understand they are still working the bugs out. It’s completely fair to want to wait. For me I had gap between Soul Hackers 2 and Persona 5 and I didn’t want something super heavy: Bunny Park was “okay”, but the controls are better for PC. Slime Rancher 2 was perfect.
@Titntin which is fair. I’m thinking of trying potion permit. I’ve hear pretty good things about it. It’s top down
@mousieone Thanks for the heads up, I'll check that out!
@Kaloudz yeah and Pokémon is coming up ._. They’re killing me.
@Kaloudz I have friends … we all play together… can’t escape.
@Kaloudz nope mainline. I mean now there is co-op stuff kinda but even before we’d play at the same time so we can trade
@Kaloudz umm well I don’t the ones coming in a few weeks yet. The gameplay was similar to previous entries but the meta is different.
