It's still better to let your sub lapse, then do the xbox live gold hack again. I get a year of gamepass for $60.
@PhhhCough But is it Ultimate Game Pass? Please explain?
@GuyinPA75 yes, it is ultimate. I get my 1yr xbox live gold for $45ish(eneba dot com). Then upgrade to gamepass ultimate, $15, via the xbox dashboard. But you HAVE to wait for your current sub to lapse, because if you add the 1yr xblg, it'll convert to 6months of your current gamepass, instead. I think you can stack 3yrs of xblg before converting.
@GuyinPA75 or save more money in buying turkey 12 month gold and doing the convert , works about approx £70 for 3 years ultimate
@Martsmall Don't you need VPN though?
@belmont yes
@Martsmall @belmont Not judging, do as you will, just want everyone to be aware that buying via VPN like this from other countries does have knock on effects eventually. It has already led to prices increasing and effectively pricing out local gamers from affording games. Several territories including Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa and more have seen prices rise by as much as 300% in part to combat VPN abuse. There is a reason some territories offer cheaper games.
@themightyant so it's because of that hey ? Not that everything has gone up on price ,please show one press release from Microsoft saying it's because of this ?
@Martsmall I've heard of doing this. Some people tried explaining how do it. But never understood how the step by step do that.
@GuyinPA75
Make sure ultimate has run out /has none
Buy 12 months turkey /Brazil gold from eneba/cdkeys up to 3 years depending on which one is cheaper at the time
Use VPN to put on the gold codes on your account
turn VPN off wont need it anymore
If uve not had ultimate before you can use the £/$ 1 get ultimate or if you have already had the offer pay for one month ultimate/ or buy one month from the sites mentioned above
That will convert the gold to ultimate and u will have 1/2/3 years of ultimate depending on how many years you purchased
Search hotukdeals there are plenty of threads on there explaining
@Martsmall Of course Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Steam etc. aren't going to release a press release saying as such, not least it isn't legal to block people buying digitally from overseas in some countries. But that doesn't stop them raising prices to combat it. There have been numerous articles over the years about this. Here's a handful of recent ones but Google will show you dozens more.
VG247 / Games Radar / MCV UK
Note the prices went up the most specifically in the countries that were all previously some of the cheapest and usually featured on Hotukdeals and other price saving websites. I have some friends who can't afford to buy games anymore due to the price hikes.
As I said not judging, I don't know your situation. Do what you will, just be aware there are people who are affected by it.
@themightyant I know Ur not judging I'm not arguing with u if that's what u think ,I'm really not
Anyway that's a bs excuse we have raised prices because of blah blah it's crap they raised prices because they can
They raise prices anyway like EVERY company ,they all are it for the money and will take every penny they can , a fine example if everyone stopped stealing from stores tomorrow do you think prices would go down ? They wouldnt,
Energy companies (in UK I don't know where your from ) have made record profits and still prices go higher then they ever have been ....it's the old well we have to.pay more blah blah ...but you made record profits?????
It's the same with everything popstars for eg.... Spotify rip us off and pay us hardly anything and we only have 3 mansions to choose between lol
Oh and if you visit Xbox now and check out prices it's mostly the big companies that have raised prices ea/ubi blah blah you know the companies that already have billions but it's gotta do with vpns right ?
https://www.xbox-now.com/en/game-comparison
Edit 2 sorry I think of more stuff lol
Years ago Microsoft said it's up to the game companies whether that make their games closed region yet they havent ? If they losing so much money from ppl doing this why not just stop it tomorrow then the problem is solved ? Because it gives them a excuse to raise prices
@Martsmall I get what you saying but if that is the case why did games go up specifically in all the territories that are abused most by VPN's? (just look at Hotukdeals. Turkey, Indonesia, etc. and it used to be Brazil, Argentina too etc.) And this wasn't by £5 or £10, but double or triple the price. That is not normal, or fair.
Agree with you're points on companies in general. But don't think we're going to convince each other on VPNs. Agree to disagree on this one.
I'm off to play some games. Happy gaming.
