We've only just been treated to the first official batch of Xbox Game Pass games for September 2022, but it looks like there might be a few more announced next week, at least according to a mention on the official Xbox website.
A post about Game Pass on the site mentions that we should "check back here for our updates [on] September 15th at the Tokyo Games Show", which appears to be hinting at some potential Game Pass reveals on that day.
"While you’re updating your ordered list of games to play, make sure you add a reminder to check back here for our updates September 15 at the Tokyo Games Show!"
It wouldn't be a huge surprise to see some Game Pass announcements at the Tokyo Game Show 2022, as last year's event brought us XGP reveals for the likes of Scarlet Nexus, AI: The Somnium Files and Mighty Goose.
Gungrave G.O.R.E is one potential addition that we could see get announced next week, as it was recently mentioned as part of a promotional Xbox Game Pass email - unless, of course, that was just a mistake!
Keep your eyes peeled on September 15th - we'll let you know if anything noteworthy occurs.
Do you think we'll see any Game Pass additions next week at TGS 2022? Let us know below.

September 15th you say. Isn't that also when the exclusivity for Deathloop on PlayStation ends??
@BRT15 14th I believe. But yeah, hoping we get some kind of announcement for Deathloop next week as well.
I wanna see Gungrave, No more Heroes 3, Trails JRPGS, And basically all the games from Atlus, Nisa, Falcom and Gust arrive on Xbox console, Game Pass! 💚
Gungrave and Tales would be cool.
@FraserG bear in mind deathloop has just gone on ps plus equivalent of game pass was there any exclusivity deal done to keep it away longer than the year.
@Gloki_junior Yeah, good point. Who knows 🤷♂️
A return of earth defense force on game pass would be nice
@FraserG the fact that Deathloop is in PlayStations subscription service (I keep forgetting the name of their tiers) makes me fear Sony had a Capcom Leak like deal were they had first dibs on any subscription deal.
If true, although the platform exclusivity might be over at that date, I fear the game would still be blocked from GamePass, and that in turn would motivate Microsoft to hold on the title until that window is over.
Here I’m hoping I’m wrong.
If Deathloop has an even more exclusivity window over subscription service etc than that is honestly ridiculous. An Xbox first party game not on xbox for over a year. Wow.
@Chaudy
Well it isnt a Xbox title since they didnt have anything with making Deathloop.
They just bought those who made game.
They own IP now but thats about it.
Dont worry you will get it on gamepass sooner or later.
@Royalblues Deathloop being on PlayStation extra this month is really interesting…far more so than Death stranding coming to pc gamepass (as we know the pc version wasn’t published by Sony as possible reasoning there…and why it’s not on Xbox gamepass).
Deathloop is published by Bethesda…but now Bethesda are owned my MS. You’d think the reason that title is on extra is because it was part of the exclusivity and marketing deal Sony had with Bethesda (I expect ghost wire to be the same)…rather than them going to MS after the buy out and doing a new deal with them.
I mean yeah, money wise MS gets more from Sony. But they want to sell gamepass off games that aren’t on other services…otherwise why have exclusives at all?
If say PlayStation only owners can get gamepass on their tv, or their pc…what’s the incentive if they already have new xbox games as part of their plus sub? It’s surely less.
If say the majority of series s owners also have a PlayStation console, there’s now less incentive to have extra and gamepass - every game counts. Particularly in a year where Xbox has so few AAA games from them on the gamepass services.
I’d be very surprised if they gave their blessing and it wasn’t already in the deal. And it will be interesting to see if some sort of blocking deal is placed there for it coming to gamepass this month - maybe ‘their own games’ been blocked from their own service is why blocking is being made a talking point now (as blocking games you’re paying for marketing for just makes logical sense).
Maybe a way around it will be Xbox getting a different version of Deathloop (a definitive version)…who knows. But the timing of it hitting extra sure is purposeful
Imagine if it was FF7 Remake coming to Xbox.
@Tharsman I'm not so sure that Sony was thinking of co@& blocking gamepass when they signed the deal for Deathloop and Ghostwire so i think it will be going into both services at the same time. Question is when did Sony start getting worried about gamepass, I'd imagine anything signed after RE VI they were trying to get that into the terms, buy don't think Deathloop would have it. We'll know next week for sure
Gungrave for PS2 was pretty fun! I'll be glad if we get this new one on Game Pass.
I think the surprise Game Pass reveals would be more Japan focused rather than Deathloop appearing. So stuff like MH Rise for PC Game Pass, Bravely Default II, Shin Megami Tensei V, etc.
@Snake_V5 don’t give me hope 😔
