Update (Fri 16th Sep, 2022): In case you missed this, Outer Wilds is now officially Optimised for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and the upgrade is included with Xbox Game Pass! You can download it right now.
Original story (Thu 28th Jul, 2022): We recently included the excellent Outer Wilds in our list of games to play while you're waiting for Starfield, and now you've got an even greater excuse to play it, as it's getting a free Xbox Series X|S upgrade this September.
The exact date is September 15th, 2022, and while it hasn't been definitively confirmed yet, we're assuming the upgrade will be available on Xbox Game Pass as Outer Wilds is currently included as part of the service.
This version of the game brings Outer Wilds up to native 60FPS on both consoles.
If you haven't played Outer Wilds before, here's what you can expect from it:
"Outer Wilds is a critically-acclaimed and award-winning open world mystery about a solar system trapped in an endless time loop. You're the newest recruit of Outer Wilds Ventures, a fledgling space program searching for answers in a strange, constantly evolving solar system."

Awesome to see! Not sure if you noticed by the way, but Grounded 1.0 is coming September 27th. Don't seem to be seeing much coverage of that, even from Xbox themselves; it's a shame, the game's great!
Echoes of the eye came out last year. I've bought it on xbox but yet to give it try.
Need to play this game, but I can't seem to figure out how to fly the ship in the tutorial... It puzzles me
"a brand-new expansion called Echoes Of The Eye on September 28th"
That came out last year, and there's no plans for any more DLC. I guess that date is when the DLC will get an upgrade too.
This'll be a great excuse to play it again. It's one of my top ten games I'd say. It does a great job of environmental storytelling and puzzles.
@AlienigenX The controls are a bit odd for the ship, and travelling in space can be tricky at times due to the effect of gravity, but there's an autopilot that'll help out. Stick with it as it's worth your time.
My piece of advice for the game in general is if you feel confused, and don't know what to do that's normal, and intended. Go try something else, and you'll figure it out eventually.
Game is intriguing and interesting, but sadly very boring and frustrating to play, i stopped after 2 hours and enjoyed it way more by watching a let's play after
Much better than 30fps but it isn't smooth. Just tried it out today.
Time to play this and the Expansion aswell
Got it free for watching an E3 presentation. Best freebie ever. Looking forward to update.
