We were treated to the surprise announcement a few months ago that Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion was heading to Xbox, and now we've got an official December 13th release date along with pre-orders going live.
As we mentioned back in June, this is a remaster of the 2007 PSP exclusive of the same name, complete with HD graphics, updated 3D models, full voiceovers and new music arrangements, an improved battle system and more.
Pre-orders are available as of today on the Xbox Store, with the standard version coming in at £49.99 / $49.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at £64.99 / $69.99. Both include a pre-order bonus in the form of a SOLDIER Materia Set, while the Deluxe Edition also adds a mini soundtrack and original art book as a bonus.
CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION follows the story of Zack Fair, a young warrior admired by the boy destined to save the world, trusted by men renowned as heroes of legend, and loved by the girl who holds the fate of the planet in her hands. The tale of Zack's dreams and honor—the legacy that connects him to Cloud—is revealed in full in this grand saga that has broken the limits of an HD remaster.

This actually looks pretty good. Played the original way back when and WILL play this. Still gonna look for a christmas sale though, because it's what i do. #TeamCheapSkate
Never got to play this one back in the day since I never owned a PSP. Looking forward to playing it on my XSX.
I would like to play this but I'm not supporting Square Enix anymore, not even on PS. The only thing that I would buy from them is another game by DONTNOD.
@Kaloudz what I wouldn't have given for game pass and indies back in the late 80s and 90s when i was a kid. Back then it was "get a game around christmas or my birthday or MAYBE one in the summer and beat it 10 times even if you hate it." Not i like to partake in as much as i can, while still being a cheapskate of course!
I never had the pleasure of someone bumping a cable or cord since we almost always had one of the console tvs with the woodgrain around it and it would sit on top with the cords tucked behind.
Plus my one sibling was older and i didn't have a dog or a cat growing up, so my stuff was safe. Now, praying my zelda 2 game saved when i'd hold the reset button down for added effect was ... throw up a prayer!
@Kaloudz 11 boxer dogs!? You have a permit for all of those?! lol
Gonna buy this on the PS5 since it seems impossible that the main game (Remake and Rebirth) comes out on Xbox…
Remake Interlude and Rebirth will come to Xbox eventually because Square Enix is selling temporary exclusivity but not permanent. I guess nobody paid for Crisis Core's exclusivity, which is good.
You can have any Final Fantasy you want, except VII REmake.
@Banjo- Believed this once upon a time, but not anymore. If Final Fantasy XIV never came to xbox (which was actually confirmed to come) neither will VII Remake
Can't wait to see the modern version of Cissnei.
@InterceptorAlpha I read something recently about the original final fantasy VII apparently Sony paid about 30 million on promoting it for the ps1 if that's true I can see why they'd be so invested in it
@Ashadelo I hope you're wrong. With Sony paying additional money for the sequels, we could see the complete package once it has been released for PS in pieces.
@Banjo- I hope im wrong too.
@Ashadelo In the meantime, I'm going to play the other Final Fantasy games. I have played I, IV, VIII, X/X-2, XV and started VII on PC when I was a kid but some discs were scratched and couldn't finish it.
@Banjo- I played and beat all the mainline ones except XI and XIV never played XIV and only played a little of XI.
@Ashadelo I will skip the online games as well, XI and XIV. People say that XIV is wonderful but it's a 2013 game and I don't want to invest time on it and then a sequel comes.
