Okay, this one has us pretty intrigued! During last night's Opening Night Live showcase, Something Wicked Games showed up with its new RPG, Wyrdsong, which is looking rather wicked indeed.
The announcement trailer is pretty brief, admittedly, but it certainly sets the tone for the project. This one is being headed up by a bunch of industry veterans, some of whom have worked on the likes of Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, and more.
That's about all we have to go for now, but we're expecting the team to bring something big to try and rival those established franchises. Something Wicked Games is an "Independent AAA Video Game Studio", and the team appears to have lofty ambitions with launching its new IP.
What do you make of Wyrdsong based on the teaser? Let us know in the comments!

I'm having a hard time getting excited by just a trailer alone. Yeah it's cool that industry veterans make it, but until i see actual gameplay or know what the game is about i can get excited about it to be honest. RPG's can be a lot of things and im not a fan of all type of rpgs so until i know whats it like i cant be excited
@Lavalera Agreed, the trailer could almost make it a 2D RPG which while it might still be good wouldn't normally be considered "AAA" - will need a lot more detail before my interest is peaked
I never understand how people get excited by CGI trailers announcing nothing more than the title - yet people got 'very excited' when games like God of War Ragnarok (just a Logo), Star Wars Eclipse (CGI trailer), Marvels Midnight Sons, the Avengers even Fable & Perfect Dark - all without any idea of what the game 'is', what story they are telling, what the game-play loop will be etc. An announcement about a 'new' game in a 'known' franchise gets people 'excited' despite the game probably not really out of the early conceptualisation phase and still 'years' from release.
Its nice to know that there are 'longer' term projects to 'look forward' to in the future, but I'll wait until we in the 'final' stages, when the 'actual' game and its game-play, setting, plot synopsis etc is known before any 'excitement' starts to swell. Until then, there are a LOT of games coming much sooner to be excited for...
I'm interested. Bows have always been a subjective preference of mine when playing RPG's. It's very cool that the main characters primary weapon is a bow. Kind of makes me think this is a FPS AAA RPG.
Looks interesting. But with ex Fallout and Skyrim developers, does that mean day one bugs will be present 20 years later?
so this is not based off the book Knights Wyrd?
