Yesterday was "Bungie Day", starting off a week of celebrations at the Destiny and former Halo developer, and Head of Xbox Phil Spencer took some time to share kind words for the studio in a message over on Twitter.
In response to a blog post about the celebrations, Spencer noted how the company has built "worlds and characters that are highlights for me in my gaming life", congratulating the team on "all you've accomplished":
"Congrats on Bungie Day, Bungie. A studio that has built some of the worlds and characters that are highlights for me in my gaming life. Congrats on all you've accomplished and what you stand for, looking forward to the teams showing what's upcoming for the studio."
Of course, Phil Spencer has made it very clear over the years that he's a massive Destiny fan, still playing Destiny 2 regularly to this day, including on livestreams with Bungie on a couple of occasions over the past few years.
That might be a thing of the past moving forward though, as Bungie is in the process of joining Sony's PlayStation team for $3.6 billion. Fortunately, Bungie's games, including their future projects, will still remain on Xbox.

I hope their next game isn't destiny 3, I would much prefer a proper single player Sci fi open world game as it seems to be their specialty.
Sony spent their money wisely with the Bungie acquisition. Whilst Destiny isn't my cup of tea, there's no denying how big and successful it is, and the experience that they can bring to their other studios.
That and they still deliver some of the best FPS shooting mechanics out there. MS should have tried harder to keep ahold of them, but wish Sony all the best with this quality team!
And Favourite Bungie Game... Oni (or maybe if I'm being more serious Halo 3)
@pip_muzz MS never really understood or respected the talent that they owned with Bungie. They just wanted the Halo IP, and someone to pumped them out. I used to call Bungie the Naughty dog of Xbox. Sadly, no other studio has been able to hold that title since they left.
I always wonder how different the Xbox One generation would have been if Bungie had stayed with Microsoft, and created Destiny only for Xbox.
@Floki I'm not the biggest fan of Naughty Dog 😂 but I get your point. I also wonder how Xbox One would turn out if they hadn't forced Kinect so heavily at launch, and again allowed Rare to make a decent game again... So many what ifs.
Happy for Bungie though! And seems their games will come to PS and Xbox moving forwards too so it's win-win for the gaming community with them as well.
@Floki Is Naughty Dog still considered the top dog? Insomniac, Guerilla & Santa Monica might just surpass them.
They doing the fusion dance
@shamirqushairi Insomniac for Sony, Monolith Soft for Nintendo and Playground Games for Microsoft.
@Grumblevolcano Can't argue with that! Bang on for all three companies there I'd say.
I got an email from them about 'bungie day' so I had a look because I thought maybe they'd be giving stuff away or something & it was asking to donate to them it felt like they were inviting everyone to a birthday party & then asking them for money to get in lol
