already pick mgs pw hd, vandal hearts, and silent hill homecoming (y)
Does Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (digital, backwards compatibility) include Peace Walker? I ask because I have it but haven't played and now I see Peace Walker separately. I think that the collection has Peace Walker in some versions/regions.
I snagged a lot of games and dlc because so much of this was cheap. Really filling out my 360 library nicely. Need to check the 360 marketplace for any extra deals later
@rhyno_888 Do you also have Metal Gear Solid HD Collection?
@Banjo- Believe the HD Collection is just MGS 2 and 3.
I picked up PW because it's the only one I've been missing.
@Richnj Then only the physical version includes Peace Walker.
@Banjo- Peace Walker was on a separate disc in the physical edition, and a separate purchase/download for the digital edition.
@Banjo- Yeah. I don't know why.
@Banjo- I've physical copy on vita... but never have mgs pw hd
@Banjo- only mgs 2 & 3. pw separate
@rhyno_888 @Richnj Thanks, I just bought it. I have the HD Collection already.
@JoakimZ Here is a separate game, it would be nice if it was another game in the menu (as DLC).
I copped Silent Hill: Homecoming and I think I’m gonna grab the Silent Hill “HD” Collection. I know these games were never patched but this is probably the only way I’ll get to experience them so I’ll suck it up and deal with it.
@rhyno_888 damn fine picks. This reminded me to go back and pick up Peace Walker…which is my fave MG game
@Dusk_Actual It's a shame that they haven't patched the Silent Hill HD Collection.
hmm... it's weird that far cry instincts predator still not on sale. did ubisoft forgot this game already?
So bought Asura's Wrath and the DLC that was on offer but when i tried to get the Episode Pack that contains the "true ending" it won't let me buy it and i keep getting an error page, from my understanding the DLC i bought on offer is not the same as the DLC in the pack so i'm very confused as to why i can't buy it despite it giving me the option.
Ubisoft still not putting the dlc on sale for the legacy games they are closing. Scum
@Banjo- @Dusk_Actual Konami did "patch" it, though. It just still doesn't visually resemble the original release, as was the main complaint from players. There's videos on YT comparing it with and without the patch. Also, it helps to play on Series X/S over the PS3 version.
Port Royale 3 is free for me with Xbox Gold
Beyond Good & Evil HD is just £2.02
That’s an instant buy from me.
The dlc for saints row 2 is finally on sale ! Been waiting for that for ages perfect timing aswell because Ive just finished a playthrough of the 1st & was about to start the 2nd
Can't find silent hill homecoming on the UK store 👎🏻
@Would_you_kindly Yeah, you have to purchase it on the US store. I did that last year along with a some other US only digital releases.
@JoakimZ can you do that without a US credit card though
@Would_you_kindly Yes, you can buy a digital gift card.
I got mine here: https://www.recharge.com/en/us/xbox-gift-card
@EVIL-C I read somewhere that Konami only patched the PS3 version of Silent Hill HD Collection, isn't that true?
@Banjo- Wow, I remembered incorrectly. The 360 patch was cancelled. 🤦♂️😢 But I did watch some footage of the game played on a Series X, and at least in terms of performance, it looked alright to me.
@EVIL-C No problem. It's a pity. I guess it runs well on Series X. It's the missing fog and things like that that annoy fans. I haven't played any SH game except Shattered Memories (Wii). If the rumours are true, classics will be remade. Otherwise, I'll buy this collection for Series X and deal with it.
This is a good sale, but with only four more free Xbox 360 games with gold games to come I think I'll hang onto my pennies until there are no more freebies. Who knows? They might go out with a bang and offer more than two per month in the next two months, they have offered extra games before.
All that aside, this is a nice sale, back compat has been a great success and I have not only purchased many games but also enjoyed the freebies too.
@Banjo- consider buying SH: Homecoming also... it gets VERY rarely discounted, see: https://psprices.com/region-us/game/4143850/silent-hill-homecoming
It's not available in Europe, but just switch temporarily to US to buy it, then back to your region - the game's region is NOT checked when launching, so you won't have to switch to US to play it.
It's not the best SH, but still.
I am waiting for SH: Downpour to become available digitally again... it's a pity that it was delisted, but it appeared shortly in 2020, so who knows... I remember playing it on X360... I liked it really.
@skaarj217 Thank you. I also noticed that Downpour was removed. I'm going to buy Homecoming just in case. It's also possible to buy it on a browser changing the region. As long as the console doesn't check the region like it does when launching Ridge Racer 6, it doesn't bother me.
EDIT: It can't be purchased on a browser if the region is not changed. I'll try what you said.
@funkhouser immediately checked out Port Royale 3, and lol I own it already, didn't even know that , probably has been in games with gold sometime.... thanks for the tip though
Bought Sid Meiers Pirates, played that one on my C64 35 years ago fir the first time, OG xbox version for 2,50
@Banjo- Yeah from what I've seen, the game benefits from the series X performance in general. I'm generally not super hardcore nit-picky about missing visual effects.
Me too! Shattered Memories was my first SH game, and I freaking loved it.
@skaarj217 I grabbed SH: Homecoming while it's on sale! 😅
@EVIL-C I couldn't grab SH: Homecoming even after changing the region.
Yep, Shattered Memories is very good and I had not played anything like that before. The written conclusion quite matched myself and that impressed me.
@Banjo- What error was thrown when you was trying to buy it?
I suggest that in order to buy from another region (say, you are in UK and want to buy from US region), you should:
1) switch to the US in console region settings
2) reboot console
3) add a valid payment option (I'm using a VISA or MasterCard credit card). This should be another card of yours, not the main card you're using when 'in UK'. While doing this, the console will ask you for a US address - just enter any valid address and (most importantly) a valid US postal code that matches this address. The easiest way to find it is to open any city, any street on Google Maps and select, say, a restaurant there - you'll see it's postal requisites: the address, state and postal code. Enter this info into what the console's asking you. It will be validated then and after a short while display a success message.
4) open the Store and browse any games in the US region
5) the last thing to remember is that you MUST re-select that credit card / payment option each time before you press the 'Buy' button on the Cart Summary screen. If you don't re-select the card, an error might display, and even more - there's a slight possibility that your newly added credit card would be banned for some period of time (2-3 weeks usually). This is happening just because there's a check of your credit card to match the selected region is performed.
6) switch back to your home region
7) try to install and launch the game. A few cases might happen here - you might not be able to either install or launch (or both) the game - in that case, switch back to the US for that game... there aren't many, but still some games exist with more strict checks of the region. There is an edge case also when you could not see the game in your collection on the console, but you could see it in the mobile Xbox App - then install it from there. Vice versa also is possible.
NB to the people who think it's illegal - it's not. Microsoft doesn't prohibit buying a game in another region. There are some checks performed under the hood when the transaction is happening, but if you manage to buy it - it's OK, it's yours rightfully. Anyway, you buy it from Microsoft.
@skaarj217 "This should be another card of yours, not the main card you're using when 'in UK". Then that was the problem.
"You might not be able to either install or launch (or both) the game - in that case, switch back to the US for that game". That happened with Ridge Racer 6, I ended up requesting a refund because I didn't want to switch regions to play games. I know it's not a big problem but it bothers me.
"To the people who think it's illegal - it's not." Actually, the Xbox website says, "Change region to buy this game".
