'Fallout: London' is a pretty comprehensive Fallout 4 mod, aiming for a PC release in 2023. It's been in the works for some time by a team of talented modders, one of which has now been scooped up by Bethesda Game Studios.
The mod team posted the news on Twitter, stating that Fallout: London's Lead Technical Adviser will be leaving for a role at Bethesda. It must be pretty awesome to work on a Fallout mod as a fan, only to get picked up by the owner & developer of the franchise!
We're not entirely surprised though, to be honest. The mod team is calling Fallout: London a "DLC-sized mod for Fallout 4", and there's some real production value behind the project, which has been in the works for years now. Here's a recent gameplay reveal for the mod, which already has almost a million views in just over a week:
Would you play a Fallout game set in London? Let us know your thoughts on this project below!

Release things like this on gamepass over demos of indie games that are coming to gamepass anyway, or early access of f2p games. Let’s start seeing a lot more mod support this gen on console…give everything to PC, start taking things from PC too.
Mods are going to be super important to games like starfield. I don’t want to miss out on that.
This is great news for this fella. Hard working paying off. Thankfully he didn’t put his efforts in a Nintendo property.
@Bleachedsmiles Yea it would be good if the top-tier mods achieved “official status” or something and got released on Xbox. Could be a cool perk for gamepass; especially if Xbox could help integrate achievements into them. I wouldn’t want the console flooded with trash though; but if Bethesda are impressed with a project (like this one) then why not!
Always great to see modders hard work rewarded like this. They've shown the passion and the capability and to go work on the future of the games they were modding is a great reward. Wishing him all the best.
I have hope for the next entry, now.
As someone who made games for 20 years, people have often asked me how they can get into the business, and this illustrates the best way in.
Modding tools, scripting tools and custom skins can all be used to show skills and ideas, and most importantly, that you have a passion to do this work. I hired many people bassed on such work, and its great to see its still happening.
Imagine if they just built a new studio around these guys and had them create the next Fallout entry while Bethesda themselves finished Starfield and started Elder Scrolls 6?
Leave the main entries for Bethesda but let new, passionate devs do the spin offs, so we don't have to wait 10 years to get a new game.
The London team already have a great basis, and I would pay to see it fleshed out in to a full game.
I would play it. The thought of running around London sounds like a good time.
Will we see a re release with a few 'premium' community mods & no actual work from Bethesda
