It's been a while since we got an update about the sequel to sci-fi cinematic platformer Flashback from 1992. Fortunately, the Summer Game Fest delivered - with a fresh update, revealing the platforms and release date for Flashback 2.
The game will be coming to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and multiple other platforms this year in "winter" 2022. There's a teaser to go with it - hyping up the fact the fight will continue 30 years later.
As highlighted by our sister site Nintendo Life - when the sequel was originally revealed in May last year (overlooking the 1995 release Fade to Black), Flashback is a cool telling of a sci-fi memory-lost tale that is combined with some smart puzzles, awesome environments, and decent puzzles.

I hope this is good and not like that awful remake/remaster that came out on the 360 a few years back
One of my favourite announcements, in part because it was a complete surprise (remember them?). I knew what it was immediately - the original is so ingrained in my brain - looking forward to this, hope itโs good,
In the original game on Genesis, I always thought the main character looked like Jerry Seinfeld. I would do his voice while playing the game around my brothers. Fun times.
@Fishticon I need to unsee this now
The first one on Genesis was amazing. I remember renting it and not being able to get out of the first area at all, so I thought the game was terrible and hated it. I eventually revisited it when I was a bit older and figured out the puzzles behind it, which gave way to an incredible game.
