It's been almost five years since Forza Motorsport 7 graced our screens in eye-popping 4k, on Xbox One X at least. Since then, developer Turn 10 has been heads down on rebooting the series, taking longer than usual to develop the next series entry. Ahead of any gameplay reveal from Turn 10 though, some images of an older build have leaked online.
A recent Reddit post attached a couple images of the next Forza Motorsport, and apparently, these images are of an Xbox One build. It's still unclear as to whether the upcoming Forza game will launch on the last-gen system, or if this build was created just for early testing purposes. Either way, it's clear these images aren't anywhere close to a release build of the game, dated as being taken in July 2021.

However, that release build, and its reveal, may not be too far off. Again, we've seen nothing officially since 2020's teaser trailer, but Windows Central's Jez Corden says that he's heard the game is in beta phase, and that he believes some influencers have gone hands on with the upcoming release. Here's the timestamp from the latest Xbox Two podcast:
We've known for a while that playtesting is underway, but when will we actually see Forza Motorsport 8 in action? Well, we're not quite sure just yet. However, Microsoft has revealed the date for its big 2022 summer showcase, and if you ask us, that seems an ideal time to show the game in action. For now, we'll just have to wait and see.
Are you excited for the Forza reboot? Surprised to see a last-gen leak? Let us know in the comments!

I’m sure it will show up in June and maybe even release this year 2022.
As for Xbox one build, who knows, I thought it was new generation and pc only though.
Anyway it will be day one Gamepass so that’s me covered to try it out. I’m very into FH but not big on track based racers.
FH seems to have grown in sales and become very popular over the years. But I think sales wise FM has declined in sales. I guess popular or not they have to make another to stay relevant in the FM vs GT stakes.
I remember someone saying in July 2020 that Microsoft removed traces of a XB1 version of Forza Motorsport and Everwild shortly after the showcase that happened that month perhaps as a response to Jim Ryan's "We believe in generations" comment. Maybe Microsoft decided to do the same as Sony and then we find out that all the non-Bethesda games get XB1 versions (Bethesda pushed for new gen only with stuff like Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo).
I fully understand there are valid business reasons for making games, especially high budget games, cross-gen but I hope this isn't the case here. Would be great to have more games built from the ground up for XSX|S sooner rather than later.
The fact they allow streaming to Xbox One should help promote this too and push people to Game Pass Ultimate.
Take everything with a pinch of salt… especially when Sony fanboys are tweeting it. We’ll see how it looks and what it’s on soon enough no doubt. Long as it isn’t riddled with microtransactions and unreasonable grinding.
I highly doubt it'll be crossgen when no other Forza Motorsport has
@Bleachedsmiles I was going to say same. That account is a well known Xbox hater and stirs the console war/fanboy pot daily to create fake drama.
I don't see why this is a Surprise. I think the vast majority are expecting a Holiday 22 release and official reveal and Game-play breakdown this Summer.
Traditionally, Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon games are announced the E3 prior to release - which was understandable with their alternating 'yearly' cycle. We haven't had a 'new' Forza Motorsport since 2017. FH4 (2018) and FH5 (2021) have both released and that included an 'extra' year for FH5. 5yrs is quite a LONG development cycle for Turn 10 who normally made a Game every 2yrs.
I know its been a 'difficult' couple of years but I would be very surprised if FM doesn't release this year. Normally around now, there is a 'leak' about whichever Forza game is coming up - whether its where Horizon will be set or what 'new' feature or cover car FM may have...
Considering the last FM came out before Forza Horizon 4 - and we’ve already had FH5 - I’d be very surprised if FM8 didn’t release this year.
Would be very surprised if this doesn't release this year. They've had loads of time on it.
FM8, MW2 and new God of War are the main games I'm looking forward to this year.
Wish developers would stop supporting Xbox one at this point. Seems like the technical issues and such it causes isn't worth the hassle.
These were leaked long ago and no one really cared. They're definitely from last year and didn't have the testers GT shopped out. But again main point no one cared at the time the actual source clearly stated that it was a buggy build and only for test purposes.
Pretty sure it was mentioned that the next Forza was Seriex X|S only. Old build of something that won't come to previous gen. Forza8 is not coming out this year. At best Q2 2023 imo.
What's wrong with people on Xbox one being able to play the game natively I don't see anyone crying about the series X version being held back by the series S
Freaking marlisjun purposely becoming a pony just to gather audiences for her onlyfans account later lmaooooo
