Halo Infinite Season 2 is officially out now, and while we're having plenty of fun with it so far, it can't be denied that a sizeable portion of the Halo community doesn't seem too pleased with Season 2, mainly due to a couple of reasons.
The first reason is that certain changes have been made that really haven't gone down well. For example, the Pelican is reportedly no longer driveable in campaign, certain bugs have been "fixed" that fans didn't actually want fixed, and the apparent "nerfing" of skill jumps and sliding has been a common point of criticism too:
Meanwhile, the challenge system has also been getting a lot of negative feedback. This is focused around the actual content of the challenges, as well as the fact that fans don't want to be forced to play certain modes to progress.
Here's are a couple of examples of the criticism we've seen surrounding challenges:
Aside from this, the actual new features that have been introduced in Halo Infinite Season 2 such as the new modes and maps seem to be going down well, so it's a shame that the rest of the changes are suffering this negativity.
Fortunately, there's plenty of time for 343 to fix a few things, as the season doesn't end until November.
How are you getting on with Halo Infinite Season 2 so far? Let us know in the comments below.

I surprisingly like Last Spartan Standing more than I thought I would considering I usually don't enjoy BR. My biggest problem with it is just the way equipment is aquired. There's too many Overshield and Cloaked players going at a time. Perhaps maybe tying them to the load out tiers would be a possible solution or simply just make them more rare.
Haven't had the chance to dive into the other modes yet but it's good to be back!
I was having fun with it last night. Others I know also have been happy with it. Was honestly surprised to see this article. Thought it had been getting an overall positive reception.
The lack of change over the already poor challenge system is the most unforgivable error. It essentially flat out confirms that 343i never intended to have a fair progression system but instead one that nudges and encourages the player to spend real money on "challenge swaps".
The gunplay is as superb as ever and the new maps both well designed, sadly this game appears to be rotten at its core and with this season lasting a huge 6 months it'll be a whole year before any decent changes are made.
The lack of content I can forgive, the predatory microtransactions approach I cannot. At some point this starts to look bad on Microsoft and not just 343i....
I don't hate the new mode but it doesn't really make sense. its gun game with lives. You have lives an yet they drop overshield an cloak willy nilly. You lose a life for merely being in a spot or just spawning into hell itself.
I've always loved a system that makes you feel like your play has to be meaningful but halo is always chaotic. There is so much outside your own control that makes you eat dirt because thats just how halo is.
I've won a few times but never really been satisfied about it.
the battlepass grind continues to be slow but eh. I don't really care about it at this point, i'm just there to play the game at the end of the day. What i get is just a bonus but I didn't care about what I looked like back then. What I had was more a trophy of my efforts, like recon. Nothing more. Doesn't make me win any better thats for sure.
Skill jumps...i mean...eh? I think more skill in this would come down to map knowledge, being aware of enemy positions based on your own team or sound and just overly controlling the field** rather than just...trying to force a parkour in a game that wasn't really about it?
What happened to just playing the game for the sake of the game anymore.
I'm in the negative fan boat. Already mentioned my dislike of last man standing so I won't go into again but I also agree the challenges stink as well. You get to decide on trying to win or trying to get that fifth backsmack. Want to play fiesta? Too bad, you'll only get rewards for stronghold matches (good luck finding one). It's random and it takes away progressive nature of the battle pass system.
We want to play your game 343. Stop trying to make it more difficult than that.
Annoyed that they are asking for more money before fixing the issues - I am close to removing it, it is taking up space.
Challenges are a super weird artificial way to prolong people playing the game. Of the game was just fun people would still be playing it.
I completed all mine yesterday but I have to say I don’t enjoy how it dictates how I play the game. I won’t use challenge swaps unless it’s something really annoying.
I think the worst the worst challenges are objective mode bar as getting the right mode is so random.
I hope in the future we’re free of this nonsense. However now my weeklies are over I’m just going I play the game for the fun of it. Might check out new King if the Hill as I’ve not tried that yet.
You know, for a company that refused to take out sprint because "people expect it", they sure are going out of their way to not do what people want here. Odd.
The game should have never been free to play to begin with.
On top of that though, this season's updated has addes bugs. For example the Battle Rifle and heat wave will now stop mid firing and act almost liked they jammed.
Other issues, such as desync, are actually worse and more prevalent now. While things like the stuck spawn cam and high ping games are still ever prevalent.
All of this being present while they fix "bugs" nobody asked for like flying the pelican. It didn't even give you an advantage or anything.
I give it an F because there's no standard red coating for Rakshasa, I can't live up to my name. Jokes asides, I think time is necessary before you can fairly grade it. Right now I'm hopping between KoTH and LSS and really like both. The new cosmetics are cool but another six month wait is straight up wack. If I had rate it right now... Probably a B. But that can change to a C as time passes.
Edit: Also challenges are still lame.
Yeah the whole battle pass and challenge thing sucks. You should level up based on merit and receive unlocks at each level. Then sell xp boosters/level skips, direct skins, emotes, etc for the mtx.
I hope Square-Enix buys 343i and then is bought by Sony.
IDK how it's possible to screw up a game this badly with that kind of budget and IP. And coop is now, what, August-September? How do you delay a core campaign component of a full price game by a year, when the game was already delayed by a year, and then keep delaying and screwing up the free muliplayer? It's like they launched it and then started development.
I finished all battle pass first season. but im not willing to do the same this time. I realized i was getting stressed over this stuoid challenges instead of having fun. I'll be back to Halo infinite when we have a normal progression instead of challemges.
Really enjoyed the gameplay of the multiplayer but just can’t be bothered with the challenge system
Haven’t played for months tbh

Spot on
When is a exclusive Xbox game not free day one on GPU when it’s “free to play” - but free to play means battle passes…. So not all Xbox exclusives are free day one in GPU. Just saying.
