We don't usually get a great indication of what's coming to Xbox Game Pass until Microsoft formally announces (at least) two batches each month, but Xbox Game Pass in May 2022 is already looking fairly stacked in mid-April.
As you can see from the table below, the big highlight so far is Sniper Elite 5, which is launching day one with Xbox Game Pass on May 26th, as is every game on the list so far - the likes of Trek to Yomi, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising and Pac-Man Museum+ are all day one games for the service, with likely quite a few more to be announced.
Here's what we know about Xbox Game Pass in May 2022 to date (updated as of April 20th):
Date | Game | Platform |
May 3rd | Loot River | Console, TBD |
May 5th | Citizen Sleeper | Console, TBD |
May 5th | Trek to Yomi | Console, PC, Cloud |
May 10th | Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising | Console, TBD |
May 24th | Hardspace: Shipbreaker | PC |
May 26th | Sniper Elite 5 | Console, PC, TBD |
May 27th | Pac-Man Museum+ | Console, PC, TBD |
There was supposed to be another game on the list for May in the form of Two Point Campus, but unfortunately that's since been pushed back to August. It seems there's a small chance A Plague Tale: Requiem could end up shadow dropping on Xbox Game Pass in May 2022 too, but it's probably not worth getting your hopes up.
Don't forget that we've still got a lot to look forward to in April 2022 as well! Lost in Random is coming to Game Pass via EA Play this Thursday, former PlayStation exclusive Bugsnax arrives on April 28th, 2D action-RPG Unsouled also drops on April 28th, and Microsoft has still got another batch of April's games to announce next week.
It's a great time to be an Xbox owner, and a great time to be subscribed to Xbox Game Pass!
What are you looking forward to most in May 2022 so far? Let us know down in the comments below.

Looking good. Definitely interested in Sniper Elite and Pac Man.
Trek to Yomi looks great; and I’ve never played a Sniper Elite game before but I’ve always been interested in the series. I suppose I can give this one a go.
Playing Weird West currently...alot of gamepass games I start I won't finish ...but found a real gem in weird west...Defo will finish it
Yeah, it's looking dope.
Don’t think I’ll ever get the attraction of sniper elite. Sure, I like close ups of balls as much as the next guy… but it’s on its 5th iteration???!!!
Played the last one to get the reward points…still has poor acting. Crippling slow pace. And bad AI. I just don’t get it.
Some of the indie games look worth a go…but been a couple of poor months for me gamepass wise.
I’m not pumped for any of those
Can they let me finish some games first. Just started weird west and I'm pretty sure it's going to be a time sink.
I just want jrpgs, but there's no filter to help me find what I'm looking for. Like on xbox there's no filter for rpg, but it is on the cloud, there's a genre for rpg.
Trek to yomi looks cool, eiyuden chronicles might be a good jrpg, and sniper elite 5 will be good too that seem to be a good month, but like other people said I am drowning under my backlog can’t see the end. And I don’t want it to end .
Psychonaughts 2 was a gem and i wanted to play more after completing it.
So I'm interested to see if Lost in Random will fill that little urge I got from Psychonaughts 2.
Game pass for me had a very slow start to the year besides nobody saves the world, even cancelled it in February with the big reason being legends Arceus, elden ring and horizon (which I still haven't gotten too).
However it seems to have picked up recently which is nice; tunic, Trek to Yomi, eiyiden, dangonrompa (did I spell that right?), Weird west, lost in random, I'll have plenty to look forward to when I return 👍
Apart from a few hours of Tunic ive not played a GP game at all this year! Trek to yumi looks like one I should try and if I ever run out of titles to play Id try Lost in Random too.
Its been a good year for aaa titles I buy and own, and when its like this, im not sure I need a subscription service at all. No shade at the brilliant GP of course, im subbed to now too and only looked at one title this year.
I'll love it again once I run out of aaa's
Edit. Forgot true colours too, I really need to make more time. Is it possible to pause Elden Ring? No, no its not....
eiyuden chronicles is must play i think..
Bugsnax also
Trek to Yomi sounds good too
If I wasn't already fully booked through 2022, I'd probably have subbed for a month in order to play Trek to Yomi. It looks fantastic.
Actually, if it's short enough, I might anyway.
