Outriders developer People Can Fly has just released a deep-dive into its upcoming 'Worldslayer' Expansion. This huge add-on launches in June, and Xbox Game Pass should enable a cheaper entry point for those looking to jump in.
Worldslayer will introduce a whole new campaign featuring a fearsome opponent — the powerful Altered - Ereshkigal — along with new locations, and more. Blizzards now ravage the land in Worldslayer, and it looks like pretty a harsh place to explore, all things considered.
The game's existing character system is also expanding, with new weapons, mods and gear to discover, along with new class trees and the long-term progression system - Ascension. Worldslayer will also introduce new endgame content in the form of the 'Trial of Tarya Gratar', which will be further detailed in the run up to launch.
Anyway, back to the Game Pass thing. Outriders Worldslayer will be launching as a full $60 game, featuring base game content and the expansion. However, existing Outriders owners will be able to upgrade to Worldslayer for $40, so as long as the base game remains on Game Pass come June, that's a nice launch-day saving.
Outriders Worldslayer releases June 30th, 2022 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

might buy the expansion with my reward points outriders was a good game
I don’t see too many people jumping back into this for 40
@trev666 reckon I'll give it a go too. I was lucky enough not to run into any of the launch issues and really enjoyed it. The New Horizon update was really good too so high hopes for this expansion.
@uptownsoul if it follows the normal - then you would be able to purchase the original at a discount.
They need to put it on gamepass. I can't see a lot spending $40 on it. It was good but short.
Nice! Really enjoyed this game despite all the hate. Played through it solo and it was like a good B movie, cheesy in the right places, action in the others. Graphics were great amd the story was fun, glad Square Enix is giving this game more content (a bit late) but in the grand scheme of things better late than never.
@SacredPYRO same for me, didn't have any issues and liked playing through it. Great graphics and fun gunplay
@uptownsoul I assume you'd just have to buy the base game, unless they remove it from sale. Hopefully it all gets cleared up by launch
I really enjoyed this game. Hope the expansion just as good.
Enjoyed the game but co op was a pain to find games...did mostly solo and stopped playing about half way through
Beat the campaign with two different characters and really enjoyed it. Never tried the end game but I'm going to get back in to it this weekend. Haven't played since New Horizon dropped.
I havent played Outriders in months, Pretty much not since its launch month. I beat the base game and didn't really get too into the end game stuff. If they would have made this expansion aspart of Game Pass, then I woulda been all about getting my squad back into this. But for $40 bucks, I am not even going to check it out. Sounds harsh but that is just the facts of it. Cool game but I won't be able to get any friends to pay $40 for it, and then when Outriders is off Game Pass you are just stuck their with a useless $40 DLC, Napes I'll pass
Enjoyed Outriders quite a bit actually, so I can’t really bad-mouth the base game. Although endgame grew stale pretty fast.
$40 is a hefty sum for an expansion. Gotta be rather grand for me to jump back in.
Always think it’s an odd move multiplayer focused games splitting up the player base.
Shame it’s not on gamepass…but we’re seeing this more and more, games on gamepass just being the base game. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a new gamepass tier at some point that includes dlc for games.
Nobody who's only accessed the game via GP - anyone who doesn't actually own the game - will be able to get the expansion upgrade price. You'll just get the standard GP discount. So, 20% off of US$60 is US$48 (or 80% of the listed price).
So happy about this. I love this game and am excited to get more story. I might just have to boot up the original and work on some other characters. I ended up maxing out one and did not play around much with the others.
