Square Enix treated us to a surprise first look at Kingdom Hearts 4 this past weekend, and while we still don't know anything about a potential release date or platforms (no word if it'll be on Xbox yet), fans already appear to have spotted a reference to Star Wars in the trailer, and it's easily missed if you don't know what you're looking for.
The bit to focus on is at 0:34 in the video above — in the top right corner, you can see what appears to be the foot of an AT-ST walker, in an environment that looks very similar to Endor from Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
In a press release, Square Enix confirmed over the weekend that Kingdom Hearts 4 is currently in "early development" and will introduce "an epic new storyline titled the 'Lost Master Arc'." Here are a few more official details:
"Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the KINGDOM HEARTS series. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions Donald and Goofy, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting."
Fingers crossed this Star Wars crossover turns out to be true, and here's hoping KH4 actually launches on Xbox as well!
Excited about the potential of Star Wars in Kingdom Hearts 4? Let us know in the comments.

Add in Star Wars and marvel and it’s a day 1 buy for me. Besides there can’t be that many more Disney worlds they haven’t visited in these games yet
@Gr81 How about photorealistic Muppets?
@Gr81, I certainly wouldn't mind them adding Star Wars or Marvel stuff, but there is still tons of Disney stuff they haven't touched yet as well.
III was the first game to have any Pixar stuff at all (with the Toy Story & Monsters Inc worlds), so from them alone there's still tons they haven't touched like the Incredibles, Wall-E, Cars (though admittedly I'm not sure how that one would work), plus newer stuff like Onward or Turning Red which I'm sure would be available to them during development.
Even with core Disney there's older stuff like Treasure Planet, Atlantis, the Black Cauldron, & Lilo & Stitch which don't have worlds yet, and of course newer stuff like Moana, Raya, & Wreck it Ralph (though that one probably wouldn't be very good without all the other game references).
That said, Star Wars and/or Marvel would probably bring in more eyeballs, so I could understand them getting some priority.
@leprecorn lmao. I’m good on that
