Surprised we still haven’t heard about the first expansion.
To be honest, after falling completely in love with FH4 and playing for hours, days, weeks and months... FH5 feels a bit flat... a bit "meh".
I got bored with it VERY quickly.
Hoping the expansions (when they eventually arrive) spice things up a bit.
Still jump on every 2-3 weeks to check out the new content and new cars. Beat all the races. Loved the game and got a steering wheel because of it.
@antstephenson I agree. The game looks amazing, but I got bored with it far quicker than any previous Horizon game.
@antstephenson Agreed. On paper it's the better game in almost all respects. But it just feels like the same game with a different world and skin. Very samey and fell off very quickly. Hoping the DLC, which I bought with the add on bundle at launch, will freshen things up and do something crazy like the brilliant Hot Wheels expansion of FH3
Roll on Forza Motorsport
@Nightcrawler71 Have to say I agree. This one, and Fh4 didn’t grab me as much as the first 3 did. And I think that’s down to the reward system and general clutter (not just on the map but the menus too - which is almost f2p mobile phone game like) of the last 2. The sense of progression in FH5 just isn’t all that rewarding…and in fact is a bit confusing. The previous games I knew I had to win races to unlock other races and events. FH5 I just have to exist. I’ve also found the only time I have to care about tuning and upgrading a car is when online shows it’s short comings (where if you’re racing class A cars, for example, you have to be at the very peak of that class, 800 I think it is, or you stand no chance)…only I’m tuning less because I’m constantly getting cars thrown at me or countless wheel spins or unlocks for losing races. It’s a bit odd as everything else seems to be designed around accessibility…you’d think recommended cars would be top spec or online races would be limited to cars that haven’t been upgraded.
Also the constant ‘chatter’ of the last two games is a bit grating tbh
Beautiful games…but a bit soulless. I’ve actually had more fun racing online in the latest Grid tbh.
Still haven't fixed the AI. Something is a bit screwed when a friend who doesn't play the game appears in your lineup with an untuned vehicle is nearly impossible to beat. I play solo because Microsoft doesn't do anything about people who slam you into corners.
@Bleachedsmiles 100% agree. I think FH3 was the pinnacle of the series, especially in terms of single player content - you had lots of races and championships, unfortunately the latter has been dropped. The last time I loaded up FH5 I saw all the menus and thought WTF?!?!, and then quit 😂 the only reason I haven’t uninstalled it is in case I need it to play the expansion, whenever it finally arrives 🙄
