Infinity Ward has revealed its new Call of Duty logo for 2022's game and yep, you guessed it, it's Modern Warfare II. We already had confirmation that it'd be a sequel to 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but neither Infinity Ward nor Activision had given the upcoming game a proper title.
Well, as you all waited with baited breath for the name, here it is. Yeah, it's not particularly surprising is it? Modern Warfare was a massive hit back in 2019, and following Vanguard's disappointing reception, Activision will no-doubt be glad to return to its ever-popular subseries.
What we're interested in though, is the Xbox-Activision Blizzard merge. If that all goes through before this Call of Duty releases — and that's looking increasingly likely — it could very well end up on Xbox Game Pass day one. Expect Modern Warfare II to launch this October or November because... yeah, it's a Call of Duty game.
What do you make of this? Excited for another Modern Warfare? Let us know in the comments!

After the disaster that is Vanguard I think I will pass.
Great, now we have to refer to this as
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)
@Tasuki Infinity Ward is the best CoD dev, though they made that Infinite Warfare crap back in the day.
@Savage_Joe I actually prefer Treyarch over IW especially after Modern Warfare 2019.
@Wyatt006 I have actual heard Youtubers and such refer to it as Modern Warfare Roman Numeral Two, to avoid confusion with Modern Warfare Two.
Meh-dern Warfare II
@Tasuki treyarch contributed greatly on Vanguard's development
That’s no surprise but It’s a cool looking logo lol.
@Savage_Joe They did Zombies that was all. The core multiplayer and campaign was all Sledgehammer.
The next one will just be called Modern Warfare 3 instead of roman numeral III
Will this still be on last generation consoles or just the new generation this time?
Just to be clear, even if the MS deal goes through by November, that doesn't mean this will be day one in Game Pass.
PlayStation has a deal for marketing and exclusive content for 2 more games.
If the leaked marketing deal for RE Village is anything to go on, PlayStation could have a clause from preventing the game going into any subscription service until the marketing deal expires.
Obviously pure speculation at this point, but worth pointing out non the less...
But but but we already had Modern Warfare 2
@Dezzy70 I'm guessing/hoping it will be current gen only. I know Warzone 2 will be current gen only and I assume this will be closely tied to that.
I'm waiting till after it releases to see if they force warzone 2 on everyone that buys mw2 don't trust Activision after modern warfare 2019
@SacredPYRO
Would be good for just current generation goodness.
About time, 2 years this November.
@Tasuki I thought the camo grind was better in Cold War
@blinx01 A easy thing to push aside. Remember, cod will be releasing on PlayStation going forward because Xbox want to be reasonable. It's in Sony's interests to be reasonable and receptive to Xbox's plans now too. As far as Cod is concerned at least.
If they drag their heels and stop gamepass getting it - xbox could rethink it coming to PlayStation at all.
I don't think either will happen. I think everybody plays nice.
Hyped about this game.
