If you've managed to get your hands on the fancy new Steam Deck already, we've got good news to share out of the Xbox camp, as Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Cloud Gaming is officially now supported on the handheld device.
The service is accessible via the Microsoft Edge browser, and the company says it "worked closely with Valve" to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to the system. Interestingly, the Steam Deck runs on Linux rather than Windows, and Microsoft says it's "particularly excited about this as we feel it can open new opportunities in the Linux gaming community."
To access Xbox Cloud Gaming on your Steam Deck, you'll need to follow a set of instructions which are available over on the Microsoft Edge Reddit page, requiring you to install the Linux Beta version of the browser to get started.
Don't forget that some Xbox games are officially playable natively on the Steam Deck as well, so you can install the likes of Forza Horizon 5, Psychonauts 2, Sea of Thieves and more without having to play them via the cloud.

Ugh. I was already planning on getting one. But now I have more of a reason to.
It looks like a powerful handheld full of possibilities... like the opposite of Switch.
I definitely want it even more now. Is it possible to plug the Steam Deck into a monitor or tv? Iโd like to play some games from Steam on a bigger screen if Iโm at home.
@MaccaMUFC yes its possible. Valve is releasing an official dock for it eventually but any $30 USB-C hub from Amazon can get the same result.
Probably won't be able to acquire one until the end of the year but man I can't wait to get one of these!
I so want a steam deck. Perhaps once I get situated with my house I will pick one up.
This device is getting better and better.
I canceled my preorder for now, butt will be getting it eventually.
Dont have the money for it yet, so will be getting it by the end of the year.
Great news, but will hold off for v2 and full game pass support. At that point it would replace my Series X.
@Banjo- good thing the Nintendo fans don't come here often to defend their precious console
@Savage_Joe I know but I have a Switch anyway ๐.
@Banjo- I have 2 switches. But, my god, they tend to be too passionate when it comes to any Nintendo criticism ๐

This is good news, but when I do finally get mine (currently now due after Q3, so over a year after placing my reservation) I may just end up dual booting it (this will be available when Steam OS 3 launches apparently) with Windows 11 (which should be working on it by then) allowing me to install the games to it too.
Now if they get full official support for the MS storefront and the games working via Proton I wonโt even need to do that.
