After much waiting, teasing, and even more waiting, WB Games has finally revealed a launch window for Hogwarts Legacy. The highly anticipated Harry Potter adventure comes to Xbox this holiday season.
The big reveal happened at Sony's State of Play show, dedicated to all things Hogwarts Legacy. The showcase detailed a good 15 minutes of gameplay, along with a behind-the-scenes look at development so far.
Sadly we didn't get a nailed-on release date, but Holiday 2022 is the most specific window we've had so far, and at this point, we'll take it. Hogwarts Legacy has shot up our anticipated list after this showing, and we can't wait to see more.
Will you be picking up Hogwarts Legacy at launch this holiday? Let us know in the comments.

Hogwarts Legacy does not exist in a vacuum. There are important discussions being had about the views and opinions held by the creator of the Harry Potter universe – views and opinions which we do not agree with.
Our goal is to create and foster a positive environment for people – all people – to discuss and celebrate video games, not to amplify ignorance or provide a forum for unconstructive arguments. As per our community rules, we do not accept any form of hate speech on our platform.
Quality much higher than i thought. Probably picking this up on PS5 this year pending delay

Can't wait to play this on my Series X! Looks great so far.
Holiday 2022 meaning? Christmas?
@Rickle Yeah, that sort of time period. October-December.
Looking forward to getting back into JK Rowling’s world. You can’t digitally buy any of the old games except Lego Harry Potter.
I'm not the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world, but this game looks pretty amazing. Looking forward to it!
This looks like it has been very well thought out and developed well with main Hogwarts features etc.
definitely had some money and time and good development planning spent on it.
Have Sony snapped up the advertising rights etc.
if so come Christmas the adverts will show on TB etc, PlayStation and it will look like PlayStation only.
Just imagine the PS5’s this will sell, when the fans and youngsters want this game.
Xbox you should have jumped on this one for advertising rights etc. You seem to get us Xbox fans and core gamers but you need to branch out and reach out to the general public and others like the Harry Potter fans etc, else you will not get much further forward than last generation.
I just want Xbox to succeed more, but I’m not that sure they really know how to.
@Dezzy70 Making Xbox succeed is essentially not the job of the fans at the end of the day. It is the task of dozens of managers and developers, many of whom make a pretty good living from their job positions. I understand your point of view as a fan but I really can't see how a consumer can be so concerned about the success of a billion-dollar big corporate business.
Everything about this screams hardcore nostalgia. Still remember playing the Harry Potter games growing up. Especially the Gameboy ones.
Microsoft really need to start latching on to things like this to promo it. Though I understand why Microsoft didn't here. The IP has some politics that Western companies care too much about. Meanwhile a Japanese company like Sony couldn't care less.
@BrilliantBill
Because of some their games they have produced over many years that I have enjoyed so much.
I go back to the original Xbox days and the glory Xbox360 days.
The original Halo, Gears of war etc etc.
Just want more of that quality and new Xbox IPs.
So if they do better and succeed I might get more of those games and that quality to enjoy and play.
Plus someone needs to keep Nintendo and Sony pushing hard and also make them more consumer friendly, as competition creates that.
Day 1 buy for me! Looks better than expected.
Already got it pre ordered!!
Just take my money! This is a pre-order for definite.
