At yesterday's State of Play showcase, we finally got to see more Hogwarts Legacy gameplay. The game is shaping up real nicely indeed, with a huge open world to explore with what looks like plenty of depth to the world of Hogwarts. Well, a new developer post also provides some more positivity.
Following the showcase, the Hogwarts Legacy FAQ page was updated, providing some answers to typical player questions. What sticks out the most are a couple of answers regarding online play and DLC. Basically, Hogwarts Legacy is a purely single player experience, and there are no microtransactions or in-game purchases.
The FAQ page also reveals a bit more info on the game's activities, story beats, characters, and more. It's all sounding pretty fantastic to us. A single player Harry Potter RPG with no in-game purchases? Count us in!
Of course, this could all change and DLC can easily be added after launch. However, that certainly doesn't seem to be the intention, and we'll be keeping our eyes on this FAQ page for any future changes.
Does this make you more likely to purchase Hogwarts Legacy? Let us know in the comments.

Hogwarts Legacy does not exist in a vacuum. There are important discussions being had about the views and opinions held by the creator of the Harry Potter universe – views and opinions which we do not agree with.
Our goal is to create and foster a positive environment for people – all people – to discuss and celebrate video games, not to amplify ignorance or provide a forum for unconstructive arguments. As per our community rules, we do not accept any form of hate speech on our platform.

I wish this game was an online MMO.
SOLD! This is a definite day one for me.
I was kinda hoping for mmo/games service to be honest. Might still be good. Just wanted it to be growing game. Not one and done. DLCs could keep it going if not overpriced and severely lacking content like destiny DLCs.
@Unfought_Battle Please, don't call this number again.
Really glad this isn't a GaaS. Not a fan of games you can't actually beat or have to log in every day to do dailies.
Single player, open world, no MTs, looked great in the State of Play...take my money!!! May even have to watch the movies again between now and the game’s release!
I refuse to play any game that requires you to make in game purchases to play. I have either bought and paid for the whole game play or I haven't. People are not made of money and cannot continually pump money into these greedy game developers!
As someone that has not read the books, enjoyed the films, but is not a super-fan, I had only a passing interest in this game. I would probably have picked it up if the reviews had been good and it wasn't too child orientated. However, having seen this extended gameplay reveal, the game has shuffled up my pack and will be pre-ordered the moment I am able. Highly impressed with what they showed...
Love to hear it. The beauty of a purely SP experience is that you can wait until a steep sale to get the game, and not miss out on anything!
This will give me time to actually read the rest of the books, and maybe watch the movies too...
Nope. I don't believe it. The point in the gameplay reveal where there are timers (20 minutes and so on) is a perfect opportunity for them to add some "timesavers". Remember Avengers? They can ***** off. I'll be waiting and have my eyes on them.
@romando my exact thoughts about it. I will wait and see
No congratulations from me. That's a must.
Certainly a 'big' positive for me. If it lives up to its potential, its likely to end up in my collection - whether that's at launch or later will depend on whether it was 'ready' to release or better to wait until its patched...
Single player is perfect for me, although local co-op would have been nice. The last time I got this crazy for a game was Dragon Quest XI!
I like the single player for the main game, but I was hoping for some end game content to have online Quidditch matches and PvP wizard team death match lol. That woulda been dope.
Extremely interested in this game. Looks really nice
HURRAH? No! BOOH! I looked forward to this as possibly the best online coop game ever.
But it doesn't have coop.
@BomberBlur07 Respectfully- NO.
I despise anything harry potter but as it is single player, no micro transactions and hopefully not always online I want it to be successful as not everyone out there wants co-op, mmo, always online, pvp, multiplayer season pass games
@NeutronBomb Respectfully- YES. This game won't have any immersion if it isn't online.
