Details on the Fable reboot are still fairly thin on the ground at the moment, but we do have the reveal that Senior Level Designer Paul Haynes has been promoted to Lead Level Designer on the title at Playground Games as of this month.
Haynes took to Twitter earlier today to announce the news, where he also mentioned that he was "really looking forward to showing everyone what we've been cooking up":
Haynes has been a team member at Playground Games for almost four years now, and previously worked at Deep Silver, Crytek and Codemasters on the likes of GRID, Dirt, Ryse: Son of Rome, Homefront: The Revolution and others.
There's still no word on a release window for Fable yet, but we're hoping to potentially see more of it this summer. The game has seemingly been in development for over four years at this point, so fingers crossed it's not too far off.
What are your hype levels like right now for Fable? Let us know down in the comments below.

Not getting my hopes up for a release anytime soon.
HZD to HFW took 5 years and that is sequel with certain developer experiences gained and engine in place and some assets etc.
This is PG first game from FH to open world type adventure as well.
using HFW as a reference as open world etc and maybe similar size game etc.
I'm gonna be the pessimist, here, but I'm getting a whiff of early 360 days. The initiative switches directors, not looking good; the NEW lead level desginer on fable, long ways out. I don't know, the series x|s started with the promise of games, but it's been a slow trickle of exclusives.
What’s the difference between Senior Level designer and Lead Level Designer?
@PhhhCough I am kinda with you on this I do not like that they made a stupid video years before the game will be ready. I do think they will come through eventually but what 3 or 4 years from now. Hopefully Starfield will be really good even if it does have the typical bethesda bugs at first which can really be funny.
I ask again, why was this announced like 4 years ago if it is nowhere near ready for any kind of showcasing?
@Rmg0731 that is a great question. I feel like xbox is in a really good spot except this area they need to learn how to keep a secret and not announce things to soon.
I understand they faced a lot of criticism for lack of exclusive games early on. However, we all can see and hear of the studios they were buying up and this would solve its self.
@Rmg0731
Because at the time Xbox "had no games", so they wanted to show they had stuff in the works and build hype for the future.
It's also a great way to attract talent, since it's easier to advertise 'come work on the new Fable' than 'come work on unannounced project'.
@blinx01 @VisitingComet1 @Rmg0731
game announcements most times are for recruitment drives it is way easier to get someone to apply or think of moving if they know what they are signing up for.
A great example is that star wars eclipse game that was announced in December that game at the earliest is coming is 2026 and that's if they can get people to sign up.
@mousieone
A senior designer normally overseas a team handling a portion of the project in this case say they are handling a portion of the level design usually a specific environment like oh the forest/town area
A lead normally overseas that entire part of the project
Why do they NEED a new head level designer? What the hell is going on with Microsoft's studios??
@armondo36
This is a quote from the guy in response to someone being concerned;
"Nothing to be concerned about, just internal shifting of positions! Our previous Lead LD is still with us"
@blinx01 " we demoted him for absolutely no reason" lol
Ostensibly, not seemingly.
@Rmg0731 it wasn't announced four years ago. That was rumoured until summer 2020.
@Terrin thank you.
The reason I asked was because they have a Lead Level Director. I don’t this persons is over that person.
@mousieone makes sense it can be confusing at times with this type of thing
