Although a number of live events and streams are set to return this year, one that we won't be seeing is EA Play Live. According to a story on IGN, EA has made the decision to skip this year, and instead reveal its next batch of games when the "time is right".
Here's exactly what an EA representative had to say:
"We love EA Play Live as it's our way of connecting with our players and sharing what’s new with all of you. However, this year things aren't lining up to show you everything on one date. We have exciting things happening at our world-class studios and this year we’ll reveal much more about these projects when the time is right for each of them. We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year!"
So, again - EA has plenty of "exciting things" happening at its studios around the world, it's just not quite ready to show them yet.

Of course it's disappointing but it would be even more disappointing to watch a half baked show with just cgi trailers. Hopefully they can have a game or two shown during Microsoft's event.
EA is really big publisher. I haven’t been a fan of their work for years, but I agree that if they don’t have everything ready to be shown, then don’t go with an EA Play Live just to have one. Show your games when it’s a more appropriate time to show them off. We’ve seen too many companies show off games way earlier than they should and sometimes it hurts the game sales later on or the developer as gamers lose hope and judge off an early build.
There’s also the rumor that EA is to be in talks about an acquisition. Again, this is just a rumor, but if it were true, they might be holding off to do an event with whoever that acquisition was with. I don’t like to start rumors or go off rumors, but I brought this up because we’ve seen some crazy things happen in gaming the past couple years, anything could happen at this point.
Maybe it's because a lot of their games are trash now. I used to be A huge ea fan but look at the games they have come out with and the State their in. The destroyed Madden franchise for a ***** card game that preys on children and is turning them into compulsive gamblers. The abandoned mass effect and anthem instead of fixing them. Saying that I really enjoyed Andromeda's combat it was awesome and the legendary remakes we're ok. But I just don't trust them for anything ea is beyond greedy these days which they don't understand that eventually the wrot is going to sink the ship
Kind of a shame, EA's show was surprisingly the most fun show of last year's E3 cycle other than MS and Nintendo for entertainment value.
