Bungie, the developer behind Destiny 2, has clarified to the game's community that's its "not" behind the latest series of copyright takedowns on YouTube.
Various fan channels have been targeted for uploading videos featuring music tracks from the game, and even some of Bungie's own channels have been on the receiving end. Here's the statement the company released via social media:
It's unclear what action will be taken to restore certain videos, so fans (and we guess, Bungie) is at the mercy of YouTube for now.
In saying this, there is also a suggestion by game industry lawyer Richard Hoeg that someone linked to Bungie could potentially be behind the takedowns.
Bungie's own tweet also links to its Intellectual property & trademarks page on its website, which highlights fan-made guidelines.
If we hear any updates, we'll let you know.

To me, it sounds like Bungie went nuclear to purge Marty and it's backfiring.
YouTube copyright fingerprint system can really be abused. It’s not unheard of that someone will register music they don’t own and start making claims to take over monetization, for instance.
It sounds this is taking down videos, though, so might be more of a hired IP protection contractor being overzealous and bleeping up.
YouTube seriously needs to overhaul it's copyright system because the current one doesn't work
