One Japanese RPG series that's not yet graced the Xbox platform is Atelier by Gust and Koei Tecmo. That could all change in the future though, if there's enough demand.
Speaking to the website The Mako Reactor (thanks, @HazzadorGamin) about the upcoming release Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream, producer Junzo Hosoi was asked about the possibility of Atelier games (and Gust games, in general) coming to Xbox.
If there's enough demand, the team is open to making it a reality. Here's the full exchange:
MR: "Before concluding the interview, I wanted to see if he (Junzo Hosoi) could comment on the possibility of Gust games hitting Xbox platforms. As someone who owns and plays on every platform, it would be great if Xbox-only players could sample the amazing Atelier series."
Hosoi: "If we received enough requests from fans we may be able to make that a reality."
Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream will arrive on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and the Switch later this month. It follows on from the release of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy in 2021.
Would you be interested in this series and Gust games, in general, making their way across to the Xbox platform? Leave a comment down below.

Yes, please! I'd love to play these games on my Xbox instead of on my Switch
I'm a big fan of the series. That's a big "please bring it to Xbox" from me!
I've played every atelier game since the ps3 and they seem to get better with every release, atelier ryza 2 is on ekf the best games I played last year and and can't wait for the end of the month when Sophie 2 comes out.
Thing is in Japan which is where this game sells best no one would buy it for the xbox or at least not many, as its already niche as it is and they devs know it thats why its never came to xbox before. Even the demand in the west isn't that high enough already to warrant it being dubbed anymore which they stopped 5 years ago
@Royalblues considering either of Ryza games are not new anymore, but they are good entry to the series I think it would be a great move
I always want to slap a dev when they say crap like this. Releasing on a new platform is to reach NEW audiences. Not people who already play your f***ing game.
@XxEvilAshxX Yep as I already play the game on my PS4/5, where my mate only has a XSX he would be a new audience.
I can only see that I tell my mate the game is great, and he goes hey Guts can I get that on my XSX.
Bring it please.
If you build it they will come.
Never understand this thought process from devs.
If you want to reach a wider audience, you put your games on as many platforms as possible.
So, it’s coming.
Where can we post to the developer guys? I've looked on Twitter and can't find where I can ask for it.
@Snake_V5 The producer didn't go into any extra detail, so I guess you can pass the message onto Atelier's publisher Koei Tecmo. So official social media accounts and support pages on the web.
@Liam_Doolan Thanks.
@Royalblues I hate seeing that as well thankfully Xbox this gen is finally getting somewhat noticed. And at least seeing a few releases.
At least we have a reason for limited run games, Xbox until recently had a minimum disk to print for any physical game. (I think it was 50 or 100 k) if you didn't plan to Print that many Xbox would decline the physical release.
This seems to have been worked out as limited run games has announced there first batch of Xbox games are available this summer.
@Royalblues I'm totally with you on that one. It's just a big shame that many developers follow that same pattern: release on everything BUT Xbox.
Most of my friends and myself are big fans of Japanese games but it's always the same: Windows (Steam/Epic), PlayStation, Switch. Sometimes even Android/iOS, but never Xbox.
I really hope this generation changes that, at least a bit. I think we had a great start with new JRPGs and Game Pass. I'd love to see stuff like Genshin Impact (actually Chinese) and Atlus games (Persona/SMT), which are extremely reluctant to develop/publish for Xbox.
Yes please. Would love to see smth like the upcoming Atelier Sophie II running on my Series S.
That would be awesome. I really want to see these Japanese games be "everywhere".
Have all the atelier games that have been released for the Switch, even if they all are still on my backlog.
I would very much love it if they came to Xbox, especially if they come with cross-save.
I would double dip so much on Xbox/Switch games if they featured cross progression.
Please bring this game series to Xbox. Thank you Johnny ☺️👍
I’d love Gust games on Xbox. I know it’s long shot but right now it feels more likely than anything NIS or Atlus puts out. At least KT and MS have a pretty good partnership.
Edit: Gust not guys
Where to request? Ryza 2 plz!
it's been more than a year.but still no annoucement yet
