It's 'Awesome' That God Of War Now Supports Xbox Controllers, Says Dev

One of the big talking points of the week in the world of PlayStation was the arrival of 2018's critically-acclaimed exclusive God of War on PC, and as you might expect, it also contains support for Xbox controllers.

The game is available to purchase now on Steam, and speaking to Game Informer, Senior Manager of Technical Production Matt DeWald confirmed the team put in extra work to make Xbox controllers enjoyable to use:

"[It's] awesome. We even put in all the glyphs for you so you don’t get confused by the button press. Yeah, we have no problems with that. You can even use a Switch controller here as well. You can definitely use any of the third-party controllers. We tried to add as many options as possible because why limit people who want to play the game?"

Much like Xbox Game Studios' range of PC releases in recent years, God of War has gone down an absolute treat on Steam so far, with the game having surpassed 65,000 concurrent players at the time of writing.

In contrast, Forza Horizon 5's all-time peak of concurrent players on Steam (not including Game Pass) is 81,096, while Halo Infinite's multiplayer is a whopping 272,586, so it'll be interesting to see how God of War stacks up in the long run.
