It's only January and Xbox is already killing it with GamePass. We eating good this month
I was just asking people the other day if it's worth buying these games and now they're coming to Game Pass! Absolutely brilliant!
It's okay....my backlog isn't big enough 😭
Nice, been eyeing up Hitman 3 for a while...
Damn, good get.... was looking to buy part 3 this Christmas, still might do when it leaves... (unless it's maybe part of acquiring IO interactive... ).
But agree with @Tarps and @Microbius.... the backlog is getting out of control...
Oh my god, this is insane
Aww I though these were going to be re-masters of the original games not just a re-pack
My Game Pass Sub just expired this week so decided to finally dig into the backlog - first game I decided to play? Hitman 🤦♂️
Ooops, I own Hitman 1 and 2 (playable on 2), I just want an upgrade to 3 to play all of them on 3. Anyway, another great Game Pass deal!
Wait what??? Another trilogy in January!
Does someone have a hyperbolic time chamber?
@PhileasFragg 1 and 2 have already been kind of remastered by io.bwhen u launch them via the 3rd game they run on the 3rd games engine.
I already own all three games, but hot damn, this is amazing news. These are some of the best games around and I hope more people will play them now that they are coming to Game Pass.
@PhileasFragg as I understand it Hitman 1 and 2 are upgraded to hitman 3’s engine so it is a re-master of sorts
...and Hitman 3 is optimised for Series X/S.
@Scenes @NeutronBomb I'm taking about the original games from the 2000s
Great strategy by Xbox they don't have any triple AAA first party exclusives for atleast the first 6-7 months so they use the tool they have. GamePass. In January they've added Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Rainbow Six Extraction, Hitman Trilogy and some good indie games.
Amazing win for GamePass! I’m actually shocked in a good way!
Me : oh well another christmas over with
Gamepass : with me it doesn't end
Can't wait for this, never played any of them. Always thought it looked decent just never got round to buying them. Another gamepass winner!
@PhileasFragg
They already are remastered - 1 and 2 run in the 3 engine here. It was one of the most impressive things a game dev did last gen. Let me explain: When 3 came out, as long as you owned one or both of the prior 2, you could add them as fully playable within the 3rd game engine. All the latest graphical improvements were retroactively added to the orginal games, so you could play through the whole lot in 4k* 60fps with all the bells a whistles. (*probably VRS or 1800p). Now you get that all gathered together in one place. For my money, collectively these games together are one of the greatest gaming releases in modern times.
This doesn't deliver anything that anyone that already owns all 3 games doesn't have, but at least it's finally going to be a properly packaged bundle, because the store for buying all 3 games was an absolute mess before due to the nightmare of 3 different publishers, one for each game, different bundles of the second one, etc made it a confusing maze for newcomers...or even OG buyers.... Wonder how they got S-E and WB to actually cooperate on this? Especially when S-E hates them...
@LtSarge Even if it weren't on Game Pass you really need to play these...
There's a crazy amount of content here, and it's all amazing.
Massively disappointed they're now only talking about ray tracing on PC though. Could have sworn previously they said it was coming to Xbox.
@NEStalgia That's why I asked people on Push Square about this and then I found out that these games are heavily reliant on an online connection in order for progression to work. Not to mention that physical copies are a mess in terms of what's on and not on the disc. At least this way I don't need to worry about any of this and I get to (hopefully) play all of them through Cloud Gaming.
I would like to play these games, but lately I've been allergic to complex mechanics and systems, preferring more arcade-y moment-to-moment action to strategy and depth. So perhaps the Hitmen aren't for me at the moment. But does anybody know if it's possible to enjoy them on this level at all? Will I bounce off them immediately if I don't want to hunker down and get serious? My plan was to start with 3 because fine visuals will often do a lot of the heavy lifting in investing me in a game.
Enjoy the crap out hitman games. Such fun. Always enjoy finding different ways complete a level.
I almost bought hitman 3 on sale a few times the past few months. So glad I didn't but... Where the hell I'm I going to get time for 3 more games 🤔
Glad I held off buying 3. Nearly got it on ps5 as that is where I own 1 and 2.
@LtSarge I'm one of those people that doesn't "get" modern multiplayer gaming, so "seasons" and "progression" and whatnot are lost on me. I've played all 3 games, and the DLCs and still had no idea there even was some kind of "progression" of meaning in the game, lol. I guess it must be used for if you're doing all the seasonal contracts and things. Seems weird to me since it's really a classic single player game with periodic time limited content. I never even noticed or thought about it before. (You certainly don't need it to enjoy the games, but maybe it affects the ongoing content.)
But yeah, physical, and even digital copies are a mess for sure. I'm now jealous of everyone that doesn't figure out which edition of 1 and which edition of 2 you need to have installed to get them to load into 3, only to find out you have the wrong edition of 1 and have to re-buy it as a DLC for 2 to get it to work. Streaming is a nice boon for this, I keep forgetting when games I own go to GP that means I can stream them while they're up!
These are such big time-suck games though...be warned!
@nofriendo I've never tried to play the game aggressively, but they do leave many weapons and "loud" options available, and it's a game about having options in how you play. It's obvious that it's not really where the game excels, and you'd end up not using most of the strengths of the game. It's definitely at it's best as a "hide in the closet, watch the room, plan your strategy, execute your strategy" stealth game. You CAN shoot people, but there's a lot of other games that make that more satisfying. Hitman is a stealth game, but more broadly, it's a carefully designed open-ended puzzle game where you can piece "if I KO the maintenance guy and take his clothes, I can get into the service area to KO the chef that's walking to the storage area, and take his clothes to get into the kitchen to poison the food. If I KO the waiter when he comes to pick up the order and take his clothes I can deliver the food to the victim undetected, then swing by the bathroom, KO the vallet that just went in, take his clothes, and casually stroll out in plain sight."
ooooh i bought hitman 3 literally like a week ago hahah im sure im not the only one.
Amazing game all 3 of them
Stop this nonsense.
Wow would be brilliant if I hadn't already played the hell out of all 3....great for anyone who hasn't played them
Damn crazy to see how many of y'all haven't played these games... Especially Hitman 3. I got it on release day last year, this will definitely be another big game to add more value to Game Pass for sure.
Now that Stalker 2 is officially delayed, I really hope Xbox gets on the phone and gets Dying Light 2 to fill in for it. In the long run that would be even better for the player because Dying Light 2 is coming out before the original release date Stalker 2 had... And we will still get Stalker 2 this Holiday and it should be more polished.
@LtSarge I was just about to buy this on my PS5, but now I'll just play it on my Series X!
@NEStalgia Thanks for that detailed response. I'm going to give 3 a shot anyway, even though it seems as though I'll slide right out of it after a couple hours. I just completed TLOU2, and while it doesn't look like the Hitman series is anywhere near as tense, I think I'm done with stealth for a while.
I think this is the first time I was looking at buying a game, and the Gamepass announcement came out before I actually bought it.
This is pretty damn exciting
I’ve never really played these. Due to the lack of structure - you can kill people ANY way you can - it kinda puts me off for some reason. Now they are coming to GP though I’ll be willing to give them a go.
Why though? You can already play the trilogy in Hitman 3
Damn. I’m getting more and more skeptical about buying games on sale these days. I picked up hitman 3 like 2 weeks ago…
I've had Mass Effect Legendary and Hitman on my wishlist forever. Only reason I haven't bought them is because I've been busy with other games (mostly Halo). Game Pass is such a win I can't even believe it. Matter of fact, my rule for 2022 is to only buy exclusives for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Everything else is played on Xbox when/if it comes to Game Pass.
The Series S is my first Xbox ever, got it because I was upset about not being able to get my hands on a PS5 at launch. I would never in a million years guess that a year later the Series S would become my main console. I'm even considering buying a Series X, sooner rather than later.
I have Hitman 2 through PS Plus, but this certainly sounds like the way to play the whole series. With any luck I'll be finished with Yakuza: Like A Dragon in the next day or two; nearly done with my grind to take on the True Final Millennium Tower.
@stefan771 Because you have to already own all three games to play them. Hitman 3 doesn’t include 1 & 2 you have to buy them separately. This also includes all the DLC for all three games.
Another thing is that downloading them inside Hitman 3 can be a nightmare. Hoping this fixed that.
But really this is for people who want and need all three games and don’t have to make a patchwork collection (that’s a pain in the ass to even get working right). And get all the DLC on top of it.
What’s to understand?
Im guessing these are the full games with the dlc's as well? or we get the small selection of levels?
