Update: Crytek has officially followed up the Crytek China post by dropping a teaser trailer, which confirms Crysis 4's existence (you can watch it above). Crytek CEO Avni Yerli also had the following to say on the official website:
"Right now the game is in the early stages of development so it will be a while yet, but we wanted to bring you the news at this time as we are so hyped for the future, and to let you know that we will be listening to our community."
"As development progresses we will release more details when we can. But in the meantime, know that our dedicated and talented team is working hard to bring you a truly next-gen shooter."
Original Story: Get your nanosuits at the ready, because it looks like Crysis 4 is happening! Crytek China just posted on Chinese social media site BiliBili, saying that Crysis 4 is in the works by developer Crytek.
A quick google translate confirms the developer's plans. "The 'Crysis 4' project is confirmed, opening a new nano battlefield! Follow @Crytek_Official, we will continue to update you with the latest news" the post reads.
Crysis Remastered Trilogy launched late last year. Updated versions of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 were bundled with the already-released Crysis Remastered to form the updated bundle. Speculation then began about the developer's plans for the future of the series, as Crysis 3 initially launched way back in 2013.
Well, it looks like that speculation has been answered and Crysis 4 is coming. Of course, it hasn't been revealed by Crytek's other main channels yet, but we'd expect a more official announcement soon.
Are you excited by Crysis 4? Let us know in the comments.

Will be interesting to see when this gets released.
Also if it’s new generation and PC only.
@Dezzy70 I hope it does focus on this gen only. That'd make sense, especially if they go back to the original for inspiration, maybe open things up again.
This is something I really can't stand about gaming these days. How much do you want to bet that this game is at least 2 years away, or in "early development"? I don't want to know about a game I won't be playing for years. The Metroid Dread announcement was perfect. The game launched 6 months later.
@armondo36 100% agree with you. Nintendo bare actually good at announcing and releasing 6 months later. It should happen more so like that.
@Kezelpaso
Yes with the new power available this new generation they could really open the game world up and environmental destruction etc.
I was getting excited till I saw the ‘early in development’ text. Probably won’t be out for 3 years then.
Please please please make the AI decent with a cohesive compelling story the visuals should be something but needs gameplay to back it up then perhaps Xbox will buy Crytek and fund more impressive games
Oh great. Another sequel 🙄 To a struggling franchise to boot. Crytek are really clutching at straws to stay alive it seems.
@gollumb82 Thats the feeling i got, announcing this game obviously light-years early. I kinda feel like this is what the Half-Life 3 announcement would do, a couple of people pretending to be interested while most everyone only being curious.
Nice, I own the Crysis Remastered trilogy, I just haven't got around to playing them yet..
It's about time!!!
@BrilliantBill
You're obviously right. It's on us, the consumers. I guess that's why I'd rather play Omno or Firewatch than another game in a declining series. Crytek was primed to take the industry by storm. Far Cry and the first Crysis were gamechangers. Since then they've arguably been a shell of their former selves. Hunt wasn't bad but far from the heights of their previous output. I think I read somewhere about Crytek's financial troubles. Oh well, enjoy the game when it releases 🙂 I'll be playing another indie gem instead of that.
