We've heard a lot about Xbox exclusive FPS CrossfireX over the past couple of years, and it was finally revealed at The Game Awards 2021 to be releasing on February 10th, 2022. Just a little bit longer to wait now!
If you're not in the know, this is set to be a free-to-play multiplayer game, but with a paid single-player campaign. The latter is being developed by Remedy (of Alan Wake & Control fame), and it seems to be shaping up really well.
We've seen snippets of the campaign in the past, but Easy Allies has also published a new look at a couple of early missions in the video below. The key takeaway from their impressions is that the game plays a lot like the original Xbox title Black, which certainly sounds intriguing to us.
There's still no information about how much the single-player campaign is going to cost at launch, so hopefully we might get more details before the end of the year — but we're probably looking at January at this point.
"A legendary PC franchise comes to Xbox in a fast-paced first person shooter offering a variety of exhilarating multiplayer experiences and a cinematic campaign that explores the global conflict between the world’s two most formidable private military factions."

So if this is an xbox exclusive I would be right in thinking its coming to gamepass?
@UltimateOtaku91 Maybe but not everything goes to Gamepass.
@UltimateOtaku91 it might not be day and date because it's not an Xbox Game Studios game, just a console exclusive. No doubt it will be on game pass within the year though.
if the reviews are good I might actually spend money on it lol. I definitely think it looks cool going by this preview and you know what, seeing as Halo was day one Game pass (had it not been I would have brought it) I might just take a leap and buy Crossfire X. Either way how cool to have another console exclusive in just two months time. Forza, Halo, the Gunk, and Crossfire. That's four exclusives in just under four months. Wow.
@UltimateOtaku91 as of right now, it is not announced that it’s coming to Game Pass, I wouldn’t be surprised if it did down the road though.
February is such a ridiculously stacked month at this point. Crossfire, Horizon Forbidden West, Life Is Strange, Dying Light 2, Elden Ring, and Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. People’s wallets will be hurting. As intrigued as I am by this, especially after the Black comparison, I won’t be touching this with Horizon and Dying Light 2 around the same time.
Wow, a new shooter that is actually looking pretty good and interesting that isn't called Halo.
@Kilpobox I didn’t realize that!
Another f2p online shooter is a waste of paper, even an exclusive, after Halo, but a campaign by remedy that plays like Black? How have I not noticed this before?
I honestly can't imagine it not coming to game pass. Remedy has close Ms ties. Smilegate doesn't, but the game will benefit largely from the exposure next to Halo I'd think.
January would have been better, or even delay it till March or April, in February you're gonna get swamped by Elden Ring, Horizon and what not, don't know what they were thinking there in the marketing/publishing department. But hey if it doesn't get picked up enough at launch, it's gonna be in gamepass real soon, I don't think it's coming to gamepass day one when I last looked it up at Xbox Wire.
I was in when I heard "Remedy". You add Black and I'm there day one.
