Last month, the developer Ebb Software announced it would be delaying Scorn for Xbox until 2022.
It's now been confirmed this terrifying first-person title will be officially arriving next year in the month of October. The developer promises it will feature a story that's "mysterious, deliciously dark, and oozing with atmosphere".
This release date news follows on from the developer being criticised by fans last month for its 'hostile' update on the project - where it fired shots at Cyberpunk 2077 and told fans to request a refund on Kickstarter if they weren't impressed with the lack of communication.
How are you feeling about waiting until October next year for Scorn - will you be trying it out when it lands on Xbox and Game Pass? Tell us in the comments.

That's one hell of a push back!
Woah, woah, woah. Hold the phone.
Up to this point Scorn has always shown your character as being some weird, skinless, individual. Which honestly was was my only complaint.
This video shows a, cermuch skinned individual, fingernails and all, it with some techno babble worked into them ala Quake/Warhammer 40K. I absolutely love this it this is the case.
This what we want to hear! Finally it alive!
I dunno man, reckon it doesn't release till 2023.
Wow, October? Dang. Plenty to play in the meantime but yeah, that's not very soon.
Always been interested in this but I’m in no rush to play it. Hopefully when it’s ready it’ll be good.
@GunValkyrie Why? This is heavily H.R. Giger influenced. As such, most of the "horror" elements, that is to say blood, gore, etc, are replaced with things more techno-organic in nature which skirts outside what would bump a game up to mature.
@NORTHERN_beat as long as it means they get it right it’s fine by me!
The artstyle is right up my street as a big fan of Giger. I must admit, the Game-play shown had some interesting ideas but definitely needed work. It grabbed my attention back when it was on Kickstarter because of the Giger inspired world.
Its crazy to think that was back in 2014 - already 7yrs ago...
I hope they have used the time well to really flesh out the world, the story etc and release a very polished complete game...
Visuals look amazing, sound design is great but gameplay looks average.
Not surprised by the delay
@GunValkyrie
I'm confused, this game hasn't been rated.
@GunValkyrie Sorry for the false information and thanks for correcting me. I'm pretty surprised, that is like super duper early to rate a game.
