Welcome to our first roundup for 2022! As you'd expect, January is looking like it'll be pretty quiet for new Xbox releases, but we've still got a variety of Xbox Game Pass titles on the way (with more likely to be announced as the month progresses), along with the biggest release of the month in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction.
Without further ado, here's what you can look forward to on Xbox in January 2022:
The Biggest New Releases Coming To Xbox In January 2022
- Dead Cells: The Queen and the Sea DLC (January 6th): "Battle your way through a rotten shipwreck, scale a burning lighthouse and confront your deadliest foe yet. If you manage to make it through all that, maybe you’ll finally get off this god-forsaken island..."
- The Anacrusis (January 13th): "The Anacrusis is a four-player, cooperative first-person shooter set aboard a massive starship stranded at the edge of explored space. Team up with your friends in an infinitely-replayable fight against alien hordes..."
- Pupperazzi (January 20th): "We have a bunch of dogs that need their photos taken, doggone it! Photograph and catalogue the finest (and derpiest) dogs to build your career, upgrade your camera, and discover new canines. WOOF."
- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction (January 20th): "A 1 to 3-player co-op tactical FPS. The elite Operators of Rainbow Six are now united to face a common enemy: a highly lethal threat known as the Archeans. Assemble your team and risk everything in tense incursions in the containment zone."
- Windjammers 2 (January 20th): "The best flying disc game of all time is back! With amazing hand-drawn graphics, crazy new moves, gameplay mechanics and awesome new characters and stages, Windjammers 2 is the sequel you've been dreaming of."
- Ghostrunner: Project_Hel DLC (January 27th): "Initially planned as a smaller DLC, Project_Hel has grown into a full-blown Ghostrunner experience. Take control of Hel, one of the original games’ bosses, as she descends Dharma Tower on a bloody quest of her own."

Kind of relieved there's nothing on this list that interests me. I got too many games on my plate right now that I need to finish before Horizon Forbidden West comes out in February.
The headings in this article still say “In December“.
@ParsnipHero Whoops! Thanks for pointing that out 👍
@Alduin I think they'll be more announcements next week for the first batch of January game Pass games.
Interested in Extraction for sure, but not interested enough to throw down on a pre-order. All that yellow on the game card is giving me Cyberpunk ptsd. Will wait for the reviews
@Alduin To be fair there's still two batches of upcoming games next month so you'll probably have plenty to look forward to. But you're right, the three of these don't look appealing at all.
"Ready for Extraction?" Not in the slightest. Wrote that game off a long time ago.
Slow start , it’s ok with the backlog I have I don’t need more games right now.
@thenewguy Ditto. That'll trump anything the Xbox has to offer for Q1 of 2022
