Psychonauts 2 is "probably" Phil Spencer's game of the year for 2021, but there are plenty of other releases he's been enjoying along the way.
And just like nearly every other Xbox Series X|S owner on the planet over the past week, the head of Xbox has been exploring the campaign portion of Halo Infinite. As you can see in his latest social media post over on Twitter, he's been scaling all of the mountains in the game with Master Chief's newest upgrade, the grappleshot.
The grappleshot works hand-in-hand with Zeta Halo's open-world environment - allowing players to ascend the highest points in the game, including mountainous regions.
How are you finding 343's new take on the series? Enjoying the open-world concept so far like Phil? Comment below.

Any news about what time the update for the playlists will go live today?
The biggest honor of my life was playing Halo Infinite Multiplayer with Phil Spencer.
Loving Halo Campaign, by the way. Dolby Vision all the way!
@Chaudy Well, my guess would be that once the challenges refreshe since it should also affect challenges. Im not home right now to launch the game and check but I remember the Fractured Tenrai event, when it launched, became avalible at 7 pm CET so its probably around that time.
@Vepra ah nice yeah I just found an article saying 7pm GMT also! Although it's not officially confirmed by 343. Looking forward to it.
@Chaudy daily reset is at 6pm GMT/1 pm ET/10 am PT and the weekly reset is around the same time today too so I would assume it wouldn't be long after that.
Nearing the end of the campaign, been fantastic so far. The Grappleshot is a far better addition than I thought it'd be.
This is the one thing i like most about Phil and that is he himself plays games, the likes of Jim Ryan and Kotick clearly don't play them but Phil does and its why i think he gets things more from a consumer POV.
Also the Halo Infinite is easily a contender for best game this year and best Halo game, the campaign is amazing and i'm in love with the grappling hook.
I am loving this game, and I wasn't particularly a big fan of the series. However, this one has rectified the vast majority of the issues I had with the older games.
Also, even though I am not a fan of the whole Ubisoft-ification of the open world genre, just like Spider-Man and God of War, it seems to work really well, and seems a natural fit for Halo.
Phil, pick up your wallet and buy more studies. Don't worry about Sony fans who keep attacking with nothing. Give us some fantastic games and we'll protect you from those fanatics at the Sony camp.
@WallyWest I agree with you about Phil playing games, he’s more likely to be noticed and respected by gamers who he can resonate with when he shares the same passion and hobby. People like Jim Ryan and Bobby Kotick are just simply businessmen in suits who only care for profits regardless of how it’s earned no matter how controversial.
In regards to Halo Infinite I’m loving it but after exploring Zeta for a bit, I realised what’s shown on the map is the full open area of the game. I was like “is that it!?” I honestly thought that was one part of the open area of the game and that there would be more landscapes to explore as I progressed through the story. So despite the “open world” being really small, I’m having a great time with it.
@MaccaMUFC I think the open world being small is quite refreshing to be honest, sure it could be bigger but the game isn't structured like AC, BotW or GTA so a big map wouldn't do it any favours unless 343 designed it to take advantage of a big map.
@GamingFan4Lyf Did you just kind of catch him online..? Or..?
@Qphlat27 Sort of.
I have an acquaintance who works on one of the Xbox teams.
I joined his group during one of the Multiplayer Test Flights and P3 just so happen to be part of his team.
@Cyberhu
Nice. Lift the sword of truth and justice above your head and smite those dastardly Sony fans.
Long live the queen (Microsoft)!
Are we still doing this console war stuff? Im asking for a friend. It was fun 20+ years ago, back in the 90s. If it's back in style, I'm down.
