Halo Infinite multiplayer is mostly great, but there have been a few issues here and there. One message that the team at 343 keeps reiterating though, is that it's listening to community feedback so it can better the overall experience.
With this in mind, the latest announcement is that the development team is currently "working on plans" to add more playlists to the game's multiplayer. This includes modes like SWAT and free-for-all - with an aim to deliver them before the end of the year. There's also a social slayer playlist in the works, but it won't arrive until after the holidays.
Here's the full update from 343 community manager John Junyszek across a series of tweets:
Let's talk about Halo Infinite playlists! We've been reading your feedback, and we're working on plans to add Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (SWAT), and Free-For-All playlists as we speak. They won't land by Dec 8, but the team is pushing to get them in before the end of year
Our goal for Events is to try new modes prior to adding to playlists. We'll monitor playlist health after the 3 additions above and adjust our offering if needed, but we're excited to make these updates before the holidays. This is just the start of the conversation with y'all
A Social Slayer playlist (with multiple variations) is also in the works (we see this request the most), but we won't be able to get that one ready until after the holidays. We hope you can understand and enjoy the ones that make it in before the team takes a well-deserved break!
343 senior game designer David Ellis also reinforced the fact the team had been "listening" to the community:

SWAT and Fiesta and I’m a happy man.
Waiting on them to add the one I play mostly, Infection.
It's ridiculous that proper playlists haven't been added yet. I thought they would be added by December 8th, but nooo of course not.
It feels like Halo 5 where you don't get to choose the modes you wanna play. And for that reason I've been sticking to Halo MCC still.
I hope Fiesta this time has a balance between objective and slayer like in Halo 5 rather than the slayer only approach of the Tenrai event.
Shouldve waited till it was actually finished instead of rushing to get it out as soon as possible basic features missing from the game micro transactions were in there at release but being able to choose which game mode you want to play or toggle crossplay on/off weren't
To anyone who played it? How is the gameplay?
After my hype level about the new battlefield being crushed, lol i am hoping this game is really good.
It is silly to repeat matchmaking over and over again for a challenge. Please don't make game mode specific challenges.
Just add regular slayer, I don't want to continuesly play oddball.
Halo Infinite campaign pre-download does not seem to be available yet on game pass.
I have downloaded 25.9gb which I guess is multiplayer which I can play.
I’m not sure the campaign is available for pre download.
Any ideas anyone?
@Dezzy70
Yeah that 25gb is multiplayer. Maybe campaing pre download comes closer the lauch. Halo 5 is almost 100gb.
@Justifier
Well we very close to launch and FH5 pre download was ready by now.
I have very slow 6mb/sec internet, so it best be available soon, else I won’t be playing day one.
@Dezzy70
You are right, we are only couple of days away. Heres hoping it will be available soon.
@Dezzy70 @Justifier there's a 28gb download on the game Pass app, if you open, it says Halo Infinite (Campaign) is that still the Multiplayer?
@Chaudy
I’m guessing it is.
When I go on my series x I have the multiplayer download at about 25gb, fully running and playable.
There seems to be no way of pre downloading the campaign or any update pointing to it.
I am thinking the campaign pre download has not been released yet.
Come on Microsoft what is going on?
@Dezzy70 yeah I've been looking for the campaign today, can't find it. My Internet is lame it would take a while to download.
@Chaudy
So is mine 6mb/sec so gonna take a while to download when the campaign pre download makes an appearance. I’m hoping today or at the latest Sunday.
I just wanna play slayer, I don't care for the other game modes..
Warzone please
@Chaudy @Justifier @Dezzy70 I don't think there'll be a predownload but rather a gigantic update for the base game (which is currently just multiplayer) at the precise time the game launches meanwhile the "Halo Infinite (Campaign)" file is just an about 10MB purchase check file. Then ingame you'd be able to choose whether to install the campaign just like how Gears 5 Hivebusters worked.
This method would also be how they'd make sure physical copies didn't get access early.
@Grumblevolcano
That makes kind of sense. I don't mind, I have pretty ok internet connection, and game have time to download when I'm at work
@Kohaku
Oh yeah. And what that mode was in Reach where one team was defending and other attacking (was played 12 or 8 player teams)? That was fun.
@Grumblevolcano
I see, that’s cool as long as we can do it like now depending on file size.
As us slow internet peeps 6mb/sec will not be playing day one for sure.
Hopefully more maps too.
