Deus ex is a great game.
Unfortunately, it's not Xbox One X enhanced and it's 900p on Xbox if I'm not mistaken @NEStalgia.
Ooh I may pick up that Sherlock Holmes game. I had fun with "the Devil's Daughter" when that was on Game Pass (I think it's gone now) and this one looks to be the one that came before that, but re-released after the whole debacle with the publisher.
If you haven't already, please pick up and show support for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Guardians was great, but Deus Ex doesn't deserve to die for it.
Wow, that sale could be copy and pasted from 2018 just with an extra 10% shaved off, lol.
@everynowandben @BlueOcean @Kidfunkadelic83 At least some people give Deus Ex the credit it deserves! Yeah, the XB version unfortunately never got a 1X patch, so it's just 900p 30fps....not the best looking game. It definitely looks better on the PS4 Pro/5 where it got a Pro patch, so for anyone with a Pro or 5 (or PC) I'd recommend buying it there instead, but still a worthwhile game even if stuck on the OG X1 version.
@everynowandben @NEStalgia OK, I'll get it on this sale even if it was never enhanced. Can't be worse than Human Revolution running on Wii U 😂.
Yooka-Laylee's second outing is much, much better than the first one. Great game for kids!
@everynowandben @NEStalgia
Thank you both for showing support for this franchise. I happen to love it and I'm about to start my 3rd playthrough of Mankind Divided. Still holding out hope for Adam Jensen to just appear in a trailer and say: kept you waiting, huh?
@NEStalgia yes its on ps4 pro that ive got Deus ex. Great game 👌👌
@gollumb82 Maybe Adam will be a playable guest character in Avengers. It's a small dream, but it's a dream?
Deus EX mankind divided is an awesome title. I bought it day 1 on ps4 and bought it again for xbox a few months ago for 5 dollars or something. Cant recommend this game enough
Is it me or is this basically the same list of games that rotate on off these prices every few weeks?
@BlueOcean @Kidfunkadelic83 @NEStalgia It did get FPS Boost though. 60fps on Series consoles.
For the sake of £5 quid i might grab this on xbox too.
@everynowandben Is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided included in the official FPS Boost list? I can't see it on Xbox.com and on the console shop the feature is not included. 60fps is a huge enhancement @NEStalgia.
@BlueOcean https://www.purexbox.com/guides/all-games-with-fps-boosts-on-xbox-series-x-and-xbox-series-s
@everynowandben I had seen that, that's what I said the official list on Xbox.com and the console shop.
@BlueOcean @everynowandben Oh yeah, I forgot I'd seen that at some point. fps boost is definitely helpful. It's not as good looking as the PS4 Pro version, of course, not just due to 900p vs checkerboard 4k, but it also uses better reflection mapping, higher detail lighting effects, higher res textures, better AA, and unlocked framerate (on a PS5 it runs 60 locked, on a 4Pro it sometimes dips.)
No matter how you slice it it's a game best played on a PS5 or 4Pro, but with fps boost, it's now at least a draw between a base PS4 and a Series, where it's slightly higher res (900p vs 1080p) on base PS4, but higher fps (60 vs 30) on Series.
It's on Major Nelson's list, so while it's not xbox.com, that's as close to official as it gets.
https://majornelson.com/fpsboost/
Edit: Actually, even though majornelson.com has his own domain, it's pretty obvious it's just redirecting to a page running within the microsoft.com webserver, it has the standard header and footer bars for the whole site, so it really is a microsoft.com page.
@NEStalgia Huge improvement over what you said first, I mean 900p 30fps. It's so weird that it doesn't appear as technical capabilities on the Xbox shop! I just got the digital deluxe edition, I'll check the game later. As I said, it's not reflected on the browser and console shops for some reason.
@BlueOcean I'm surprised it doesn't say it on the shop, though IDK if the shop ever has consistency with these post-launch bonus features. It doesn't surprise me that the cruddy Microsoft Store wouldn't even mention good features when they have them, though The only thing that makes the Microsoft Store look good is the eShop and PSN Store.....
@NEStalgia Since they updated the store, I check on there to know if a game I want is Xbox One X-enhanced or Series X-optimised. There are one or two that even Digital Foundry doesn't know what the "improvements" are, though. If I remember correctly, Spyro The Reignited Trilogy and another one
@BlueOcean It's just funny that you can't rely on the store to tell you what's what, you have to visit the corporate blog page of Larry the PR guy to find out.
But......it's so charmingly 1990s-'00s internet gaming....I can't help but smile. Xbox is moving into Nintendo's "endearingly out of touch" status from the WiiDS era
@NEStalgia Ha ha yes, the official browser and console stores, the only ones that can sell the product, are the only ones that lack the correct information. Major Nelson's has it which makes it even weirder since it's the official Xbox blog. Whatever, it's done, purchased and installed on Series X. I hope that they fix the errors on the store because the new console store is awesome.
