It seems Deep Silver is very keen to show off gameplay footage of the Saints Row reboot despite the game not releasing until February 2022, and now thanks to Game Informer, we've got a look at some of its opening missions.
Just like the last gameplay reveal, this footage treats us to plenty of glimpses at the combat system, as well as a few varieties of vehicles. The reception appears to have been mostly positive, although the video does still have a fair few dislikes on YouTube, with the main criticism seeming to be that world appears quite empty and "abandoned".
It'll be interesting to see how the game continues to shape up over the coming months, and whether it'll be able to sway some of the naysayers who seem to have written it off already. Ourselves, we're still very excited to get our hands on this one, as it's been far too long since we've had a properly new Saints Row instalment on Xbox.
Let's hope it can live up to those lofty expectations!
How are you feeling about the Saints Row reboot right now? Let us know down in the comments below.

Honestly I can't shake the feeling that they just made the dumbest set of characters. I mean if people like em good for them but for me they just seems so... Lame
Looks like your typical saints row game without the original people. Hmmm still not sure if im gonna pre-order i have a feeling this will be delayed from Febuary to July
Doesn't look like a Day 1 purchase. Maybe when in a couple of years.
Hmm if you'd told me this was the GTA3 remake I'd have believed you, particularly how the characters run on awkward angles and get in the cars - that's very GTA.
It looks decent enough, and I'll probably give it a go - but imagine I'll wait for a sale or Game Pass
This is so upsetting. They took all the silliness out. There's no reason to try and compete 1-on-1 with a GTA without having your own twist on it, that's why 3 and especially 4 were so much fun, they were completely off the wall.
It looks okaaaaaay, maybe takes too many shots for some of the bad guys to go down.
I know driving isn't like...the focus, but I would really love an open-world game like this where the driving just didn't seem so...slippery.
I hate driving in GTA, Watch Dogs, etc. because the handling during driving is just terrible! Is it really too much to have your driving sections feel more like Forza instead?!
Even this game looks like driving is just...well...the same as any other open-world game with a car.
That is in no way shape or hell Saints Row. Its a joke.
@GamingFan4Lyf I agree, Forza Horizon's driving is just perfect - if they could licence it out to all games with cars in I'd be very happy!
Instead too many games I can't stand driving in as it feels rubbish by comparison and way too easy to knock over a pedestrian and be hated / get in trouble (looking at WD Legion and GTA in particular there)
I'm not seeing anything redeeming in this video. Health bars, the driving through cacti was a joke, all the needly screen shaking for the "OH SO REAL" feeling. On top of all this, even the basic gameplay looks unsatisfying.
I wish developers and publishers would get it through their heads "Change for for the sake of change is never good." If there is not a quantifiable reason to make a change, it shouldn't be made. Simple as that.
I'll wait for a great sale or keep my fingers crossed for a game pass release down the line ( although doubtful )
Its a gta with crazy humor.
I want a game from them with super powers again (done better than the last) that game whas crazy but resfreshing lol.
Been waiting on this for a long time now. Them moving the release date of eldin ring to February just means I'll skip that game.
Over-the-top, violent, and stupid. Looks like Saints Row to me, so I'll be checking this out near launch.
I really can't understand the backlash with this one. Either I'm seeing a different game, or others are being needlessly petty? It's fine not to like it, but some of the reasons for the negativity seem pretty dumb.
I scrubbed through because I hate commentary over gameplay but so far it looks good. Will get when it hits the bargain bin (merely because these types of games drop in price).
