It's been another big week for the Halo series - with 343 launching Season 8 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
To celebrate, Xbox has this weekend made the MCC entirely free until October 17 (aka tomorrow). You'll be able to dive in and try out all of the game's content - including the new season on offer.
In addition to this, the MCC is currently half-price this weekend on Xbox and PC. As 343's community manager, John Junyszek, notes - that's a total of six Halo games (including multiplayer and campaigns) for just $20 each or your regional equivalent.
Season 8 includes new Mythic armour sets, a new but old level for Halo 3, new collectables, improved UI for certain games in the collection and much more. See what else is free-to-play on Xbox this weekend in our 'Free Play Days' article.

The armour on show is SEXYYYY
Seems like a lot of free weekends. I get that the game will be FTP at launch, but is this killing the hype or increasing it? Curious for those out there who have played it a bunch.
Any word on single player? We are seven weeks from launch.
@Bdbrady this is master chief collection not infinite
Will the multiplayer be free or still require Xbox live gold ? I've got the MCC but don't have a gold subscription
