With Call of Duty: Vanguard just a few weeks away, Sledgehammer Games and Activision are ramping up the marketing. Deviating away from the game's multiplayer component, this latest trailer focuses on the story, filled with explosions, emotional moments and heroics, and also reveals PlayStation owners will be receiving "exclusive benefits" up until November 1, 2022.
As spotted by True Achievements, the PlayStation version of the trailer ends with the confirmation of exclusive benefits coming to the game. There's no word on what this may be, but past iterations have included elements such as exclusive zombie maps and multiplayer modes. There's also been timed exclusivity in regards to post-launch content.
As for the trailer, it mixes a blend of CGI and in-game footage. With scenes of all-out war, along with smaller character moments, it's looking to be another set-piece driven, globe-trotting adventure.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War did some interesting things with its campaign. Not only did it introduce side missions, but you could also converse with your teammates and even reach multiple endings depending on your decisions.
As for whether Call of Duty: Vanguard will build upon this - and whether the specific benefits PlayStation players will be receiving are worth worrying about - we'll have to wait until November 5 when the game launches to find out.
Are you picking up Call of Duty: Vanguard next month? Drop us a comment and let us know.

Expected really as Sony still has a deal with Activision, which to be fair MS had in the past, however the deal with Sony seems more egregious as it's not just a month delay to maps, it seems to be exclusive content or content locked off from Xbox customers for up to a year.
Very scummy deal.
Will MS try to get a deal with Activision after Sony's has expired? I suspect not, they don't that many deals with third parties these days.
Oh wow I accidentally stumbled into Pushsquare 😂😂😂
But really, Halo and Forza so....they can have their little CoD exclusive content. Bless
Do things like that really make people swap what machine there buying on?
From the testing so far, it seems like it's going to be easily the worst out of it, Battlefield and Halo this year so no great loss.
That said, there is definitely a mean streak in PlayStation recently though with these 3rd party deals - exclusive modes / DLC (CoD, Avengers), banning games going on Game Pass and lots of big games locked behind exclusivity (timed or otherwise).
Think Xbox do at times need to take the gloves off - while moves like Bethesda, Game Pass, xCloud are great, sometimes the leaner, meaner Xbox of the 360 era is needed, who are willing to go toe-to-toe with PS on these kinds of things rather than back down from the fight.
As otherwise if Sony keep going low and Microsoft keep trying to go high, we lose out as Xbox owners with these third party games - and if the blue side experienced the same issues I imagine there'd be a lot more uproar and even campaigns to "ban" this sort of behaviour
I have a PS5 and Series X. I won't be playing CoD on either of them. BF and Halo is all I need.
Fine with me. The game sucks. I liked Cold War until they stopped caring about cheaters. Played the beta for this and it feels like an early last gen game. Not impressed at all, so I will be taking a pass on this one.
I know COD will still sell like crazy as usual, but for me, it's all about Halo Infinite and Battlefield this year.
If I want to play COD, I'll play Warzone for free.
@Clankylad Yes, my Series X and PS5 are both standing up next to each other - but far enough away for air flow purposes.
Regarding the article - no surprised, don't really care. COD died for me at Modern Warfare 2.
@Clankylad - yes my XSX is stood up, find the base seems designed to handle that best. The discs stay half-in the slot when ejecting so thankfully don't fall like in the PS2 days
@GamingFan4Lyf "Far enough away" makes it sound like you can't trust them not to try and suffocate the other lol
Yep, I too have both consoles standing tall and next to one another, @Clankylad, though I cannot see my PS5 from where I sit, which was a deliberate act as it's an ugly bugger...
@Widey85 LOL! I am paranoid about heat and electronics.
Im just going to throw it out there - does any Xbox owner really care? I definitely dont. I own all 3 but even if I didnt cosmetic exclusives just arent worth caring about.
If Sony want all the trash talking kids that don't like losing let em have em all
That’s cool, Sony fans don’t get Halo Infinite, I’ll just play that.
@Jaxx420 If it's cosmetics, fine - the issue is recently it's been actual gameplay stuff, like maps, whole modes and free content (Spider Man DLC).
If this starts to happen more often in multi platform games and so make me feel that I'm buying an inferior product as I get less for my money.
It might only be CoD (and previous times) and Avengers so far, but it might be better ones in future - and if that happens I'd expect Xbox to come out swinging as it could cost them sales
I stopped buying CoD about six or seven years ago and every single year, instead of being tempted to go back, they just give me more reasons to be glad I left.
Can't say I care, this looks like a very disappointing game anyways.
@Clankylad I have my Xbox Series X standing on its end.
And my PC version will have exclusive benefits as well that won't be on my PS5, such as better visuals at better frame rates, mods, free online play, k/m, and friends.
Halo Infinite and Battlefield are going to be my go to games anyway, not COD. I only play COD to train my noob friends for MP in better, more challenging games.
