Well, this kind of came out of the blue! The team behind 2019 action-RPG Vampyr has announced today that the game has received an update for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (and PS5), bringing "enhanced performance".
Now, the game has the ability to run at up to 1440p at 60fps on Xbox Series X, while Xbox Series S retains the same resolution but at a lower framerate of 30fps. Xbox One X, meanwhile, sits at 1296p at 30 FPS.
Here's the full breakdown of the new resolutions and framerates:
- PS5: 1440p / 60 FPS
- PS4 Pro: 1440p / 30FPS
- XSX: 1440p / 60 FPS
- XSS: 1440p / 30FPS
- Xbox One X: 1296p 30 FPS
The update is live right now on Xbox if you own the game, but as far as know it's not a native optimisation, so don't expect Vampyr to show up in any 'Optimised for Xbox Series X|S' lists anytime soon.
Still, it's definitely a welcome upgrade!
Have you had a chance to try Vampyr's next-gen update yet? Let us know down in the comments below.

Might have to go back and finish this one now.
Happy with this. Sat in the backlog (somewhere)
Always nice to get an update for free.
The resolution on the One X version looks off though, why is it lower than the PS4 Pro?
Nice but I wish devs stopped trying to force the S to do higher resolutions and focused instead on 60fps. š
@Tharsman Absolutely 100% agreed. Iād much rather we had a 1080p60 system than a 1440p30 one.
