Believe it or not, it's already been one year since Xbox announced its acquisition of Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media, valued at $7.5 billion. This included developers such as id Software, Arkane and even the Japan-based team at Tango Gameworks.
To mark this special occasion it appears Microsoft has officially updated the Xbox Game Studios web page, to now include all of Bethesda's studios.
"Our 23 game development studios, now including Bethesda, focus on delivering great games for everyone, wherever they play β on console, PC, or mobile devices. Weβre responsible for developing and publishing some of the biggest franchises in history: Age of Empires, Forza, Gears of War, Halo, Minecraft, Fallout, Microsoft Solitaire, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Doom, The Elder Scrolls, and many more. We believe that play is the thing that unites everyone, because when everyone plays, we all win."
Here's a look, courtesy of Twitter user Klobrille:
Again, that's a whopping 23 studios with lots and lots of projects currently in development, and many others already available on Xbox Game Pass, and accessible across multiple different devices.

Well, other than legacy titles added to Game Pass, we've not actually felt any benefit as Xbox owners yet.
Hopefully 2022 will be when we see the deal paying off with Redfall, Deathloop and Starfield all releasing.
They've got the studios, now we need the output.
A year and the best game theyβve made is a Playstation exclusive!!! π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπππ
@sjbsixpack
Timed exclusive like Kena. Still wonder how much money Sony is/was willing to pay to keep games away from other platforms
Can't wait for the games to start rolling in, and I think it's a good thing that PlayStation for to experience the last of the Bethesda games before exclusivity on Xbox kicked in, it allowed them to see the quality and talent of the companies Microsoft have aquired, it also might convince a few to get gamepass for sequels etc π I feel bad for hard-core Sony fans who won't get to play the next Bethesda game, but for those who love gaming in general, they have options. PC, Xbox, or Cloud. And yeah, this year haven't seen the benefits just yet, but we still got -
Forza
Halo
Back 4 Blood
The funk
And more
ππππ I'm excited for next year
Gunk.
Not funk.
My kindle hates me
@sjbsixpack Timed π next year will be nice, gamepass will get Deathloop, Ghost wire, Redfall and Star field. I'm certain they'll be more, too.
@sjbsixpack contracts are contracts. It is only a timed exclusive regardless
How do you feel about the acquisition a year later.... Playstation exclusives.
Yeah it's been great. Hopefully we'll start to see some pay off on Xbox soon.
All this does is emphasise the fact that games take time to develop. Whilst its been a year, they have yet to release all the games that were revealed prior - although have now released Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo isn't too far away.
The 'first' big release to come from this Partnership isn't expected until 2022 with Redfall and then Starfield in Nov 2022 so even after a year, its still too soon for Xbox gamers to see any impact yet - although there is a lot of 'Promise'. We don't yet know if Indiana Jones will be Exclusive yet either...
Arguably, we have yet to see any major exclusives coming from the other studio's MS acquired too. Apart from Grounded and Bleeding Edge, I can't think of any other exclusives as most studio's were still finishing off multi-platform releases (Psychonauts 2 just released!) so still waiting to see the 'fruits' of those acquisitions too - Hellblade 2, Perfect Dark, Fable, Avowed, State of Decay 3...
Obviously, Xbox gamers have a much more diverse and larger catalogue of games to look forward to than they would of without these acquisitions but a year on from the Zenimax acquisition, we are still waiting for the games to come and that emphasises the fact that despite the industry appearing to move forward 'rapidly', it still takes a lot of time for the Games to come...
@Pusher2021 yeah, i know itβs timeed. The deal was struck with Sony before MS had anything to do with Bethesda an MS honoured the deal. I actually wish itβd come to Xbox on release, i bought it for Β£51, a PS+ money off deal. Could av got it from Game Pass were it on Xbox.
@FriendlyOctopus well dammit, now I need someone to make a game called the Funk!
My created character is going to have an ENORMOUS Afro.
@armondo36 The Funk! Featuring a 70/80's jive jazz soundtrack with psychedelic gameplay and innovative dance moves.
Coming soon
@sjbsixpack I was waiting for the physical PS5 release. On Game Pass? That would be crazy, ... again Or were you talking about Deathloop? (I had Kena in mind)
@Pusher2021 yeah, Deathloop. Itβs really good. Like i said, iβd av def got it for XSX if it was on Game Pass.
@Pusher2021 i havenβt bothered with Kena, got too much to play at mo so will prob get it when it drops in price.
@sjbsixpack Going to wait too, got enough to play with GP alone. Need to complete The Artful Escape & Psychonauts 2
The Evil Within is still getting shown in these images, I really want Sebastian to take down Ruvick and get his wife back.
