It's that time again! This week has seen some pretty surprising announcements, the most exciting arguably being a remaster of the original Quake for Xbox, along with the release of the original Quake trilogy on Game Pass for PC.
With that being said, we decided to take the opportunity to see which game from the series is the community's favourite. There's a handful to choose from, but only one can be the winner. Who will it be?
Let's take a look at what we're working with:
Quake
You are Ranger, a warrior armed with a powerful arsenal of weapons. Fight corrupted knights, deformed ogres and an army of twisted creatures across four dark dimensions of infested military bases, ancient medieval castles, lava-filled dungeons and gothic cathedrals in search of the four magic runes. Only after you have collected the runes will you hold the power to defeat the ancient evil that threatens all of humanity.
Quake II
A crash-landing forces you to battle your way from the edge of enemy territory into the very heart of the Strogg Empire. Battle the alien army across ten massive levels as you dismantle their planetary defense system, disable the dimensional gateway, and eliminate the supreme commander to complete your mission and stop the Strogg from attacking Earth.
Quake III Arena (Quake Arena Arcade)
The greatest warriors from across dimensions and time are forced to fight each other to the death for the amusement of the Vadrigar, a mysterious and powerful race beings of unknown origin, who have created the Arena Eternal.
Quake 4
In a desperate war for Earth’s survival, against an unrelenting alien enemy, the only way to defeat them is to become one of them. Armed with advanced weaponry and vehicles and aided by an elite squad of marines, you take the battle to the heart of the Strogg home planet and become Earth’s only hope for victory.
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
In a desperate war for Earth’s survival, against an unrelenting alien enemy, the only way to defeat them is to become one of them. Armed with advanced weaponry and vehicles and aided by an elite squad of marines, you take the battle to the heart of the Strogg home planet and become Earth’s only hope for victory.
Quake Live (PC Only)
From the legendary series that founded the online shooter genre comes the most exciting, energetic, and fast-paced shooter on the Internet. Play against players around the world in over 100 arenas, and a dozen game modes, in one of the most competitive shooters online today.
Quake Champions (PC Only)
Developed by id Software, in conjunction with Saber Interactive, Quake® Champions is a return to the frenetic, fast-paced competition that established Quake as the originator of the multiplayer shooter genre more than 20 years ago. Quake Champions delivers the dark mythos of the first Quake combined with the groundbreaking multiplayer mayhem of Quake III Arena with a major modern twist – Champions.

I never played Quake before, I'll check it out on gamepass after i'm done with what i'm currently playing..
I think the only one I played was quake 3
Shocked to see that I’m not the only person who voted for part 4! Lol. Not the best game, but I have fond memories because I got my launch 360 while deployed in Iraq and this was one of the only games I had to play.
Quake 2 on PC is one of my favourite games of all time.
It was my first real experience at competitive online play. I probably played 3,000+ hours on it, joined a ‘Clan’ and played in online tournaments. I remember for ages I was an HPB (high ping broadcaster) before paying a fortune for an ISDN connection and playing with a sub 100 ping. On tournament days I’d use my pay by the minute connection to grt a 30 ping and wracked up a big expense but it was worth it.
I mainly played CTF and Ra2 (Rocket Arena) and it is some of the best fun I have ever had gaming.
Ah, the memories.
Original Quake is awesome but I'd have to say Quake 2, especially now with the RTX version as well
Quake is such a mish-mashed series, lol. I personally like Champions the best...fun little hero shooter who's only downside (IMHO) is god forbid you run into a "Quake veteran" in the community forum who will trash the game for its fancy graphics, newfangled gameplay, and everything that makes it not-Quake-3. Yep...those old timer gamers aging disgracefully.
Quake ll for me. Played all 4 versions of it. Can't get enough
Quake was never my favorite franchise, However, I prefer Quake 2 over others. Although, I have to confess I had good time also with Quake 3 Arena back in early 2000s.
