If you were worried that Mass Effect may have had its time in the sun, then fear not. The latest earnings report from EA confirms that the recently released Mass Effect Legendary Edition performed "well above [their] expectations".
The last quarter is said to have delivered a "big beat", with both Mass Effect Legendary Edition and It Takes Two being the driving force for the impressive results. EA claimed there is an enduring power to "the franchisees and IP[s]" it is building - Mass Effect being one of them.
"There is enduring power to the franchisees and IP that we are building. The launch of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, the remaster of the first three Mass Effect games, reignited the passion of fans around the world, driving sales performance well above our expectations."
Mass Effect joins Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as two franchises which EA has confirmed it will continue investing in. The reception to Mass Effect Legendary Edition was extremely positive, with both returning fans and newcomers embracing the game and it's legacy.
A new entry is in the works at BioWare, and if the next instalment is just as impactful, we expect the series will be sticking around for some time.

Completed the first 2 on legendary..will start number 3 at the weekend
@Xenomorph_79 The bugs weren't too big of an issue for me. It was leaving the game out to dry after poor initial sales that killed me. Giving up after you make mistakes speaks volumes more to me than not having any mistakes at all.
I really want the Mass Effect franchise to continue but if they're willing to give up on finishing stories because EA didn't get the money they wanted then what is the point?
@RedShirtRod 100%. God forbid they made a sequel to Andromeda that learned from its mistakes. Instead, we're going to back to Shepard's story, and canonizing the ending of ME3. So dumb.
Imagine investing yourself in a story and books and all that and they just throw it all away. For a story-based series, it just ruins the immersion and what makes a series like ME special, IMHO. I've actually jumped over to Halo for my sci-fi epic fix.
I'm somewhere in the second half of Mass Effect 3 and having a blast replaying this masterpiece of storytelling that this trilogy is. Fingers crossed for part 4. I have no problem with canonising one of the endings to ME3 if what follows is half as good as the original trilogy.
Legendary Edition still has bugs that ruin the immersion for me, and their support site doesn't respond anymore. It's frustrating.
I binged the 3 games back to back and it was great. But smaller than I expected given so many years of anticipation, but for a game of its time, it had a great story.
I don’t know why I ever expected, based on what people kept saying over the years, the Citadel to be this huge open world hub. Was a bit disappointed when it turned out it was composed of 3(?) zones.
Still, fantastic game. Even got me to pick up and complete Andromeda.
