Fans were happy to find out last month that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles would be getting a western release one day after its launch in Japan. The anime has exploded in certain territories around the world, with the recent film becoming the highest grossing movie of 2020, as well as the biggest film in Japan of all time. So yeah, it's a pretty big deal.
With the game arriving this October, many are eagerly excited, and during the recent Aniplex Online Fest 2021, more footage of the game was shown. The unfiltered gameplay gave us a good look at the visceral anime combat in action. While the trailers have shown some other elements outside of combat, this gameplay was focused on the one-on-one fights you'll be engaging in.
Developed by CyberConnect2, the signature fighter gameplay is in full swing, drawing influences from their past games. There's elements of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, along with a sprinkling of their Naruto series. Judging by their past work, fans of the anime are going to feel right at home as CyberConnect2 is notably known for capturing the spirit of the series' they work on. All will be revealed when the game launches on October 15.
