Ubisoft has today revealed a brand-new Tom Clancy game in the form of Tom Clancy's XDefiant, described as a free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter. In terms of Xbox, it's scheduled to arrive on Xbox One, Series X and Series S.
The game combines intense gunplay with personalised loadouts and specialised factions, offering a variety of competitive 6v6 arena and linear game modes, such as Domination and Escort. It features playable factions from the Tom Clancy universe and beyond, each with unique abilities, along with an arsenal of primary and secondary weapons, attachments and devices to complete your loadout.
If you want to try Tom Clancy's XDefiant before it releases (there's no date as of yet), you can sign up now on the game's official website "for a chance to enter the future live phases", with PC players getting the initial test on August 5.
Personalize your Defiant to match your playstyle. Choose your faction, traits, abilities, and ultras. Select from an arsenal of primary and secondary weapons, attachments, and a device to complete your loadout – then tweak it on the fly to adapt to an ever-changing battlefield.
Wolves, Outcasts, Cleaners, and Echelon factions battling across iconic locations is just the starting point. We’ll keep adding to our cast of Defiants as the game evolves, drawing on a range of characters and abilities from the Clancy universe and beyond.

Do we really need another one of these lol. Definitely a Ubisoft "Un-Original"
I'll see myself out...
So is this Ubisofts answer to Overwatch?
I hate everything about this.
I did not wake up this morning thinking Ubisoft needed another multiplayer shooter...
Still don't.
Interest lost
This is a disgrace to the Tom Clancy brand. What the hell Ubisoft?
Also, I just realised from the trailer that they called it XDefiant purely to get in the "XD" emoticon. Is the marketing team a bunch of children?
So they have quarantine, siege, Xdefiant, ghost recon and the division. Seems to be cannibalizing it's own player base.
Why do they think we need another effin shooter. These guys have got to be dead behind the eyes. Literally asking for a new splinter cell - that’s it - hard work done for them but no, another F2P shooter. It drives me mad!
"A Ubisoft Original" seems to mean looking the same as every other game in the genre
When you've been shot in the face in one game, you've been shot in the face in them all.
You need something to help you stick out from the crowd to make you try being shot in the face again. This looks like it doesn't have that.
Tom Clancy is dead, which is in many respects lucky… because this baring his name would have killed him.
Ubisoft are a disgrace
You guys got me excited when you said "arena shooter" (i.e. Quake, Unreal, Lawbreakers), but really this is a "hero shooter." Get your terms straight!
Looks a little bland, otherwise. I've got the feeling it will come down to just shooting each other TDM-style instead of using each class's abilities to complete objectives or something more strategic (i.e. Lawbreakers, Overwatch, R6S).
Oh my ***** god...
Some execs in Ubisoft really ... REALLY think this is a good idea! New multiplayer whatever game instead of much requested return of Splinter Cell
Ubisoft need a wake up call.
Stop chasing the trends and create them instead.
How many failed F2P games do they need to make before they get the message...
Apparently, a free to play shooter is all they were able to come up with to "surprise" the worldwide gaming community.
Perhaps they are so busy and tired of all the current negative goings-on concerning the sexual harassment cases, that their creativity has been gimped to a point where all they can come up with is an unimaginative stress reliever. Or stress creator, if shooters aren't your strong suit...
this game possesses all the components that i dont look forward in a game. I wish him the best of success, but i'll pass. thanks

There's more footage of the game.
When a game is free and you still think.... Nah! Not worth the SSD space.
Hard pass, with all of the quality games coming to game pass the next 6 months, this game would not be worth the memory. Disappointing.
When I heard they were going to announce a new game I really hoped they would announce a new Splinter Cell. Glad I didn’t get my hopes up!
I'm picturing a large oval glass table and leather seats. Power Point. Charts and graphs. Slide deck briefly shows how it has a few unique attributes, but more importantly uses existing code so nothing needs to be generated. Bean Counters take over the presentation and show how if they can stay afloat on microtransactions for 2 weeks, the game will begin to turn a small profit. If they can reach 12 weeks, the chart begins to show very green candles rising and serious profit is realized. Analysts take over and demonstrate that while Social Media will show anger towards the product, a disproportionate larger number will play regardless of the loud voices in Twitter because it's "free". Executives decide to green light the project based on the 2 week window to marginal profits. Go go go. XD
Wow nice!
This looks badass and its for free!
I havent really Read the article, but is it crossplay?
Pc/xbox etc?
Is it any wonder that this is so 'generic' when it has CoD Ghosts development lead, Mark Rubin, involved...
Looks free to play.
