Microsoft has announced today that it is currently in the process of "exploring" new subscription offerings for Xbox Game Pass, suggesting that new tiers - perhaps at an even lower price point - will eventually be introduced.
The company says it wants to do this in order to reach more players around the world, and allow them to experience "the most immersive and fun games" across devices, geographies, and financial realities.

No further details have been provided for now, but keep in mind that the news was integrated into a section about Xbox Cloud Gaming over at Xbox Wire, so we wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of cloud-only subscription in the future.

Maybe making Xbox Gold a basic tier?
My guess is just a cloud gaming one at either 5-10 a month
I think one way to achieve a lower price point is to e.g. pay €5 each month and then before your subscription starts you pick out like 10 games that you want to play and those are the only ones you'll be able to play throughout the month. I can't think of other ways of lowering the price while still providing a good offer other than this. Besides, I think this would attract more customers since you get to choose what to play. But maybe this would render the €10 option obsolete.
Oh yeah! This probably includes a family subscription!!!
Today we have only one GP Ultimate subscription, but with a family subscription for my three kids as well they will rock on their PC and myself at Xbox

This is wonderful news. While gaming in some places is getting more and more expensive, Xbox trying to create even more value is a breath of fresh air.
