Edge of Eternity is a day one Gamepass game !?! I’m glad I went back and looked at the montage
Edit: And Boyfriend Dungeon >.< Beejee
Well that was a few announcements! It’s going to take me most of the weekend to go through them and decide what’s got my attention!!
I like the look of The Ascent. Reminds me alot of Housemarque games like Dead Nation and Alienation.
Really looking forward to Second Extinction, Day 1 on gamepass baby..
@FraserG my man good job! You can sleep now 😃
Q) Did you watch March's Xbox Indie Showcase?
A) I watched an hour's worth of it but the showcase was so long that there was no way I was going to find time to watch it all. Thanks for the summary post here so I can see what I missed.
Q) What did you think?
A) The format could do with some improvements. Many games were included in a sizzle reel or had trailers which didn't explain enough whilst the odd game had too much time dedicated to it and dragged in. I don't plan to get Hello Neighbour 2 but I will praise it as the most informative trailer there whilst still being quite swift.
On the whole, I spotted a handful of games that intrigued me; Omno, Little Witch in the Woods, Space Club, Dark Alliance, Death's Door and most certainly Astria Ascending.
Wow that’s a lot of things. I really didn’t think much of the format though. Too long.
The content was fantastic, but the format needs a lot of work.
Were they trying to compete with the Snyder Cut?
It was FAR too long and there were too many announcements for just one show. They said there were going to be "over 100 indie games"... Was it? Regardless with so many titles, many get lost.
The fact that even the hosts had to take a break every hour or so for a few minutes with a "be back shortly" and a countdown timer should have rung alarm bells. I tuned out after three hours and felt exhausted, not the right messaging and emotion at all.
It's a shame as I don't want this to detract from what was a wonderfully strong show of indies, it just would have been far better as three or four 40min - 1 hour long shows maybe a week apart. Actually give us a chance to process and discuss a few at a time.
