Sony made the incredible announcement back in early February that MLB The Show 21 would be coming to Xbox platforms for the first time on April 20th, marking the first PlayStation Studios title to ever reach Xbox!
And as you can see above, the team at Sony San Diego has put together a little marketing trailer welcoming Xbox players to the game, reiterating that cross-play will also be available with PlayStation fans online.
If you're interested in getting your hands on MLB The Show 21 this April, it's available now to pre-order for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on the Microsoft Store, with special Deluxe and Collector's Editions also available.
"We’re so excited for MLB The Show 21 to be coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on April 20! Look forward to a new class of Legends, new ways to play, including with your friends across PlayStation and Xbox!"

What. Did. I. Just. Watch. ???!
Good on them. I'm not big into baseball but i know a ton of people are and having it cross play will make it fun as well. Not sure if it's possible but having a world series between Xbox and PlayStation gamers would be an awesome piece of marketing.
Now if they can bring it to Gamepass...😆
I pre-ordered it. I'm excited to have a real baseball game on Xbox. And now i'm struggling to find a reason to stay with PlayStation
@TrueAssassin86x the comradery with the fanbase?
MLB forced the issue but now that it’s done it’s a smart play for Sony to embrace it and collect the $$$ from it being successful on Xbox.
I only got a PS5 for exclusives and The Show was by far my favorite but Sony did have others in previous generations like Uncharted, Infamous and Ghosts of Tsushima that I really like.
@Insightful nah this was just the mlb forcing it onto xbox.
@GunValkyrie @Bowser89 Even as much as I think console wars are stupid and should come to an end, people are being ignorant to the fact that MLB is the ones forcing it.
You know.....I'm an Xbox fan and a Playstation fan. I just came over from Push Square and read all the places where Jim "Matrick" Ryan is giving me a gigantic middle finger as a Playstation fan and telling me they care only about the mainstream dudebros and not the gaming enthusiasts, while killing the diversity in their portfolio and focusing only on big mainstream blockbusters.
Then I come over to Pure Xbox and find a great fun trailer from Sony for a game that's not even in a genre I'm interested in and it makes me feel like it's a fun experience inside the box.
Why does it feel like Sony Interactive Entertainment is treating me better as an Xbox customer than as a Playstation customer?
@Tasuki MLB maybe the ones forcing it, but Jimmy Matrick seems pretty hellbent of porting the entire PS catalogue over to Microsoft's other platform: Windows. At this point Playstation is a console that runs it's network on Microsoft server farms, that sells a catalog of games on a Microsoft platform, and has exclusives that are made by a company Microsoft owns.
Maybe that's the next big buyout. Microsoft is buying PlayStation. That would be awesome. then Ryan can be given a golden parachute and sent out the window and maybe PS could be fixed from its' current suckage.
@NEStalgia “Why does it feel like Sony Interactive Entertainment is treating me better as an Xbox customer than as a Playstation customer? ”
They saw your name on the attendees list?
@mousieone Well, Jimbo did say he sees the data and knows how we use our systems.....
@NEStalgia as a fun fact did you notice SME of Japan through Aniplex is publishing video games now? Not just mobile games.
@mousieone That's interesting. I'm not sure what to make of it. But that's interesting...
@NEStalgia ditto... unfortunately you should look into it
The right thing to do is to stop the console war.
Can't wait for the Digital Foundry video that shows Sony have probably gimped the Series X version compared to PS5 LOL
@blinx01
I don’t see any motivation for Sony to put out an inferior product on Xbox. It would raise the ire of MLB and I would think Sony would want to create a great experience for Xbox players as it may make some of them consider a PS in the future as a second console.
