Minecraft Dungeons’s Flame of the Nether update is now live for Xbox, and it brings with it an array of upgrades for Xbox Series X|S owners.
Along with the new content, gear, and enchantments outlined earlier this month, the Xbox Series X|S upgrade introduces features such as 120FPS support for the Xbox Series X, as well as bulking up the Xbox Series S resolution.
“- Minecraft Dungeons is now optimized for Xbox Series X|S consoles!
- Xbox Series X supports up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS
- Xbox Series S supports up to 1440p resolution and 60 FPS
- These resolutions and frame rates are variable, and will lower while playing four player local co-op”
The patch is accompanied by the Flames of the Nether update, which delivers a paid expansion (or available for free for season pass owners), with six new missions for fans to dive into. Additionally, to celebrate the game reaching 10 million players, a cape and pet has also been made available for free for all players.
On top of the next-gen enhancements, that’s a lot of content for one update!

Does MS own Minecraft and the developer? If so why aren't the expensions included in gamepass?
Just the game we need 120fps on.
Why even bother and waste developers time.
Hardly anyway has 120fps TVs that can run 120fps at full specifications anyway.
30 to 60 FPS you do see a difference and smoothness on screen etc.
But when I have played 60 to 120fps there seems to be a minimal improvement.
I guess this is a case of my thing is bigger than your thing BS.
I wanna dive back in on Minecraft Dungeons, but I’m already playing 2 other games with similar viewpoints - Hades and Curse of the Dead Gods (both isometric). If I get back into this I know I’ll get the controls mixed up between the 3 games! 🤪
Nice, To bad my tv doesn't support 120 FPS..
@Dezzy70 Literally the only reason I am redownloading this is 120FPS support.
And Master Chief Collection has been backbur ered for me until they bring back 120FPS support with the FOV slider.
A good 120FPS screen can be bought for around $500-$800 you don't need OLED, and with how many replacement screens I've sold for the CX, I'd actually recommend against it for now.
I mean, I've had a 144hz screen for some years now. And it'll be something that'll be standard just like HDR is with 4K.
@InterceptorAlpha
I have a Samsung qled, it seems to work fine, but you never know with these TVs.
But the picture is sharp and hdr very bright.
@Dezzy70 Since Samsung QLEDs aren't OLED screens, they're just LCD with a LED back lit and some special filters, you won't be running into any OLED issues.
OLED is way hit or miss. I've had OLED screens show up with dead pixels, meanwhile I also have one of the original OLED screens int he form of a ZuneHD that I have owned since launch and has been absolutely fantastic.
@InterceptorAlpha
I had and LG C9 one it seemed ok with my Xbox one x.
I find with current TVs it’s the hand shaking where issues can be even with my Samsung Q90r.
It’s probably because the new generation consoles and the TVs need some patches to help each other out. As with the old last generation no issues at all.
