Mojang has announced that Minecraft Dungeons has hit 10 million total players since its launch back in May last year. Not only that, but the Flames of the Nether DLC will also be arriving on February 24, alongside a free update.

To celebrate ten million players, a new cape and bet will be available for all players as part of the free update alongside the launch of the Flames of the Nether update later this month.

Since its launch last year, Minecraft Dungeons has received a wave of new content in the form of new missions, weapons, and more. As outlined in a new blog post from the developer, Flames of the Nether will continue that tradition, taking you to "familiar biomes as you've never seen them before". Included within will be six new missions, along with two new skins, new artifacts, weapons, gear and a Baby Ghast pet.

A selection of free content is also coming alongside the DLC in a new update. The most notable inclusion is a new feature known as Ancient Hunts, which is built for end-game players. With challenging mobs awaiting those who take the plunge, they offer the chance to be awarded the best quality gear in the game, along with gold, which is a new currency that can be used back at camp with a new merchant.

Changes are also coming to the Apocalypse Plus difficulty mode, set to be revealed later this week.
