Microsoft unveiled its latest financial earnings report for Q2 2021 earlier today, and in a conference call following the report, the company confirmed that Xbox Game Pass has now reached a massive 18 million subs (thanks The Verge).
This means the ever-growing subscription service has grown by three million members since the last report in September, and Xbox Live is also boasting impressive numbers with 100 million monthly active users.
Finally, CEO Satya Nadella also made a few comments on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launch this past November, calling it the most successful in the company's history with "the most devices ever sold in a launch month".

100,000,000 x 5....
x 2.....
....
Nvm, thinking out loud....
I expect Game Pass subscriptions to grow more over the coming year with a the upcoming series x/series s games due out and let’s be honest it’s still the best gaming deal out there ...
Gamepass will be the Netflix of gaming..
Well done Microsoft. Game Pass, easily the best value in gaming today.
But out that 18 million how many are still subscribed now? As I'd wager quite a good chunk of that 18 million got the free trial and didn't bother continuing after it finished. But considering there's over a billion Mobile users I expected it to be way higher than that figure especially with the free trial
@NEStalgia It’s active users not subs so it’s counting anyone that logs into Live even from a Switch or a PS4.
@UltimateOtaku91 mobile hasn’t been rolled out to everyone yet, that includes Australia, Mexico, and Japan. And no IOS users which make up about half of mobile phones on the US as opposed to the UK where you guys kind of hate Apple...
Just saying. Although it is a valid point about active subs versus inactive.
@mousieone yeah I think with mobile it won't be as popular, I tried it in beta with touch screen controls and it wasn't very good and didnt touch it again until I got my razer kishi, I feel like to get the most out of the mobile gamepass you either need a controller and mount or a razer kishi which I can't see many people investing in just for mobile gaming
@mousieone also "This means the ever-growing subscription service has grown by three million members since the last report in September"
Wasn't September when cloud launched? If so then 3 million new subscribers in 4 months out of hundreds of millions of android users shows me people just aren't that interest in playing console games on their phones, I think xbox would greatly benefit from bringing out their own handheld console compatible with gamepass, I believe that would generate more new users than being on android
@UltimateOtaku91 They are not saying "18 million have tried GamePass", they said 18 million subscribers. That might count free trials at the time of the report being created, but it's still 18 million active.
Also, those Xbox controller attachment for Android were selling VERY well. I had trouble getting an android branded one. I'm site there is demand.
Cancelled my subscription a few days ago.
That's incredibly impressive given their current dry spell with major releases.
@UltimateOtaku91 Xcloud is still beta though. Once they update servers it will be awesome
Also when gamepass and Xcloud hit iOS, there will be a huge upsurge in demand. It is simple economics.
As soon as they release an app on smart TVs or a hdmi dongle, I'll be subscribing.
