There's plenty of hype surrounding Bloober Team's next-gen horror The Medium ahead of its December release for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Windows 10 PC and Xbox Game Pass, and now the developer has shared a closer look at how the game's unique 'Dual Reality' gameplay works.
As detailed in the video above, you as a Medium has "the gift, or a curse" of existing in two places at once, and you'll spend around one third of the game experiencing both realities at the same time.
When this happens, both worlds will be experienced simultaneously on the screen, and while some of your actions and powers will only work in one of them, they can also influence the other.
You can see a full demonstration of this in the video, and you'll be able to experience it yourself with Xbox Game Pass beginning December 10th, with pre-orders also now available on the Microsoft Store.

I am really looking forward to this game. I hope it's actually good. Much like how PT was a unique take on what a new Silent Hill could be, The Medium is another unique take on what a Silent Hill could be.
Loving this title. This is one that I'm super happy is on Gamepass and will be definitely waiting for in December.
This reminds me of r&c:ra. In that games the rifts seem more gimmicky, than an actual experience. Need to cross a bridge, rift. Damage a boss, rift. Same here. Dual realities, but being only able to switch realities at key moments, seems like "set pieces"
Only time will tell.
PSA: Bloober Team’s Layers of Fear 2 is currently free on Epic games store until Thursday
This is the next gen game I'm most looking forward to on either console, a very interesting concept and I'm a big horror fan
Where is it? Microsoft Store has the download. I called Microsoft Store and was told there will be a physical copy. I can't find nowhere.
